TMA-1 is a DJ headphone. So it's gonna have good isolation and bass, and also good for fast music. biggrin.gif Good for trance music I think.

Never been a fan of those 'rich people' headphones, so ask a Beyer fan/owner. laugh.gif

Hey everyone! Im looking for a new earphone!

Budget less than 1k. ( If the item is really worth the cash i might consider going higher )  tongue.gif

Stylish ( if possible )

For under RM1000, with Super Awesome Bass, look no further than Future Sonic Atrio. brows.gif I myself am contemplating on whether to get them to replace my Radius DDM. Then, there's Radius HP-TWF11(also called the DDM). It has an AWESOME bass. Quantity wise for a non-basshead like me is quite plenty, but the quality is there. I mean really there. There's a possibility that it won't fit your ears properly though(I got lucky as I find it quite good), and it's certainly isn't comfortable.

For over RM1000, there's Sennheiser IE8. You'd have to up your budget by 50% though. tongue.gif

The monsters and stuff, they're not really audiophile. They're stylish mainstream stuff with quality just above the norm. But the Triple.Fi is something different. That one has some mixed reviews, but generally they are well known to have an audiophile quality sound. It's Ultimate Ears' top universal IEM. As with any balanced armature, they aren't really for bass quantity, but quality.

Let's see.....how bout Sennheiser CX300?
They are well under your budget though, and some say it lacks control.

I think there aren't many out there that has the bass of the Atrio. Some regard to it as the benchmark for bass. My benchmark is the DDM. I'm seriously looking into buying an Atrio in a few months, as a more comfortable alternative to the DDM.

Thanks a lot bro! smile.gif heh 1 more last thing biggrin.gif what do you think about the ultimate ears triplefi 10?
*
Haven't tried one. But looking at the design I'd say it'll be a bit difficult for some to get a good fit(I know I've read some that have the problem). It is a triple driver though, and I don't think it'll be a slouch when it comes to sound quality. Some use them as a reference to test out audio rigs. Some do complain a little but that may be because it's not the sound they like or they're very very critical. I think users of Triple.Fi 10 should give a comment.

I'd say try them out. It is a rather large investment. If you can't find the opportunity to try them out, I do recommend the other cheaper options, as they fit your need for bass.

thanks for the reply

i read a lot of good reviews regarding the sr60 especially the clear sound clarity. so might give it a try. is the headphone jack of sr60 compatible with those on the laptop/desktop/phones?  hmm.gif
*
Thinking of letting go of mine. Well in a few months though.
But it is modded and I'm not sure the warranty is still available. tongue.gif

Oh, and it is compatible. it has a 6.3mm adapter. It is attached to the 3.5mm plug when shipped.
And about the sound. I find out that at times in certain music it does reveal some extra details. Details I've dismissed as being recording noise or artifacts before. They are just a tad sibilant, and bass can be felt when fed with the right music and power. Bass is quick, separation is good, though can be a bit sibilant. I've modded mine to have a slightly better bass slam and a pinch more impact, so I don't have to turn up the volume as much so the sibilance can be controlled. I've read reviews about these lower-end grados having a narrow sound stage. I was expecting the worst, but it isn't that bad really. My favourite thing about the SR60i is how it presents the electric guitar. Totally full of energy, the distortion is done very nicely, good weight. Muse's Newborn guitar entry hasn't sound so satisfying.

A recommended option for a starter headphone. thumbup.gif

i'll get this then. oh yea, is jaben malaysia a good place to buy headphones? can i get grado der? its located in ss15? just came across with their facebook fanpage through somebody's sig  hmm.gif

Jaben Malaysia is a great place. In fact, try out the SR60 first, see if you like the sound. Some people don't like the Grado sound. Also test its comfort level. I'm letting go of mine because they're quite uncomfortable after a few hours. If you don't mind them to be uncomfortable, or you find them quite alright, then good for you. thumbup.gif They have a large array of other headphones to try out as well. You can also try out the others available.

hi guys need opinion.. which is the best for my suite

used with my mp3 player, sometimes to my computer
mainly used for music

between these two

grado sr60i or seinheiser hd202 or recommend me something else below rm300
*
If you listen to rock, the Grado SR60i is great for it. Though the sibilance and low comfort level can put off some people. Also if you're going portable, these can barely do it. They leak sound into and out of the headphone. They're turned into miniature speakers. Trust me, they are that bad at isolation. Sound wise, if you don't mind the slight sibilance, it does deserve the many awards it has received.
Haven't tried the HD202.

Any recommendations for IEMs? Wanna get for the girlfriend. ahah

1. Budget less than rm150 maybe? lol (i'm not cheap, i just don't think she'll appreciate an expensive one) tongue.gif
2. Will be using with iPhone, so preferrably comes with control talk (volume control and mic)
3. She listens to mainstream stuff. Err Taylor Swift, John Mayer and stuff like that.
4. Source would be mp3s (120-320kbps)
5. Looks is priority! She's kinda a girly girl.. soo i dunno some colours wouldn't hurt. Sound isn't so much of an issue because i don't think she cares. hahaha.

He is asking for IEMs with 3 button control talk, the Sony doesn't have the control talk.

Well, he did say preferably. Implying that it is better to have one, but don't mind not having one. And looks is priority.
The black and white one looks very good. I might get one as a gift for someone. tongue.gif For a girl, the black and pink looks really good.

Some Koss IEM has a mic, but they don't look pretty.
Oooh, I just remembered some Audio Technica ones that looks really girly...but forgot the model. doh.gif
