i own RE0, i like it to listen to female vocals. would u say PL50 is good for male vocals?
*
It has a slight bump in the mid-bass and is more mid-centric . So compared to the RE0, I believe that it will be warmer so male vocals do sound full and realistic. Both male and female vocals sound sweet with these but male sounds better as the treble doesn't take centre stage. It will be a contrast to the RE0 I believe, especially with the foam tips.

Hi,

Recommendation needed for headphones

Budget : RM700-1200
Source : Ipad, Iphone 4
Music : Pop, R&B, Acoustic, Rock, Techno etc.
I need headphones that offer good noise isolation. Noise canceling would be a nice feature to have as i will be using them in noisy environments (public areas, airplanes) Prefer over-ear but on ear are fine too. Portability is not an issue. I am currently leaning towards Dr. Dre Beats Studio so please recommend a few others to broaden my horizons. Thx

AIAIA TMA-1 or Audio Technica M50.
I have another one in mind popped out as I type this, Beyerdynamic DT770 or 880.

Read reviews on them, or audition at Jaben if you can. biggrin.gif

And I want close type... because will be using it in the office.
How much is it? And where can I get one?
How much is it? And where can I get one?

I do wish someone or TS can compile headphone models for different price range to ease members to selection... like RM200~300 one, RM300~500 one... As well as the feedback and rating...
*
Last I checked out the price of the Beyers at Jaben's Lelong.com.my page, they're well within your price range. Audio Technica M50 is around RM700 IINM. Both can be had from Jaben. AIAIAI TMA-1 if converted would be roughly around RM800 but I dunno where you can get them locally.

Major - Marshall Headphones ?
*
Yes, Major is the headphone model, and Marshall is the make. smile.gif
I dunno if the Alessandro MS1i has the sound stage to make it good for movies though.

There's another one from Fischer Audio that popped in my head, FA-003.
I don't know where you can audition them, but the Malaysian official retailer of them is iDews.com.my. Or search for a forumer here callesd WS Trading.
I'd say, pick the ones you can audition. The ones you stated are readily available for audition at jaben. smile.gif

Hey here. I'm gonna ask again since the last one was lost and now it will be slightly changed. smile.gif

Looking for a headphone or IEM as a backup for my DDM. Preferably headphone.
Price: Max. RM260
Source: HM-601 or Cube C30
Uses: Music only.
Others: No earbuds, either IEM or headphone. No sound preference ATM as I tend to grow into the sound sig quite easily as long as it has the sound quality.

Benn heavily considering Fischer Audio FA-004, but wondering other choices within that price bracket. Superlux is out, "fear of the unknown" you might say. laugh.gif

I LOL at the part "fear of the unknown".

Superlux HD381F. Rm70 it is in the garage sales. (I'm not the seller) better than all the other IEM i used before (hippo VB, PL50, Groove, UE700). Just one thing the fit is not that great.  nod.gif
*
If I can get a nice fit with DDM, I think I can get a good fit with anything. laugh.gif

I think its the soft silicon. With acrylic it's fixed at one shape. With silicon it can flex a bit.

That's still quite reasonable for a Shure IEM I believe. And it is Shure's first dynamic IEM i heard?  laugh.gif
*
Actually the SE115 was dynamic. But it is their first dynamic with detachable cables and their cheapest yet.

What are the advantages and disadvantages of DJ headphones? I like the Aiaiai TMA1 badly biggrin.gif
*
Well, when you look at DJ, what kind of music are typically associated with them?
I guess these headphones will be great for trance, electronic, techno and some rock stuff. Those are fast, complex music so I guess DJ headphones will be able to keep up with fast music so the sounds won't be so congested.

Good reviews overall for the TMA-1. Haven't heard any good headphones(at least in the same league as the TMA-1) but it does look promising.

Hi guys, I'm looking for a good IEM but with tight budget. Here are the details:

-Budget around RM100.
-Use for listening to songs and the occasional movies on handphone/ipod/computer.
-Good noise isolation
-clear sound (no distortions), slight bass effect

Currently saw a few models: Hippo Groove, Soundmagic PL11/PL20, brainwave M1. But wondering which is best bang for the buck or are there any other brands which offer similar priced IEMs which are better quality?

Thanks in advanced guys! smile.gif
*
I have another one to add, Fischer Audio Omega. A forumer called WS Tradings is selling it, for RM99. The most expensive out of all your other options though, but you might wanna consider it. Although it is bassy, but seems to have an overall balanced sound according to reviews.

Looking for a portable amp!

Currently using Shure SRH440 headphones with an iPod Nano 4th gen (may upgrade to a Cowon S9 unless someone can recommend something better)
Needless to say it would be for music listening.
Source would be mostly FLAC and may add some mp3s.
I'll be listening to mostly Rock stuff, but some Alternative,R&B, Electro etc etc as well. (pretty much almost anything except those commercial pop stuff)
Portability is a must as i'll probably be bringing it around.

Budget around RM400 but i wouldn't mind paying extra if i find it's worth it. biggrin.gif

All I can think of are the Ordnance .22 and Go-vibe Martini. smile.gif

Hi there,
Need you guys help in recommending a headphone.

Budget: RM200-RM300
Uses : Mostly on music
Preferably the headphone will envelop the ears.
Many Thanks. smile.gif cool.gif

If portability isn't an issue, I have been looking at Fischer Audio FA-004. It's well within your price range. However it has a long cord(coiled some more) so it's intended mainly for home use, though can be powered by a portable DAP. Some complain that it's small-ish though so if you are concerned that your ears are too big, steer away.
As for others, I dunno. Just recently bought my first ever headphone, a Grado SR60i. Very very happy with it. There's a catch, sound leakage in and out of the headphone and it's also not a circum-aural(around ear) design.

Then there's the Superlux headphones. Search for it somewhere in this forum, there's a dedicated fan club and user's thread. They cost less than your target budget but many say they are good for the price. How true they are I cannot say.

Audio Technica CKM70 or the Radius HP-TWF11.
The latter has a notorious fit issue though. smile.gif

If clarity is what u looking for, i'd strongly recommend u Fischer Audio DBA-02. It's priced at RM599 and has alot of good reviews everywhere.
*
Oh yeah, forgot about that.
It was to be the 'opposite' of my DDM and thought of having them both. Didn't happen though. tongue.gif

QUOTE(2kia @ Apr 9 2011, 02:24 PM)
Hi guys, i'm looking for a headphone with the budget of rm200 - rm300

The music that i listen to is ranging from eminem to linkin park to mariah carey and everything in between

currently have a phillips shp2700 which umm, dsnt satisfy me me at all sonically after having my sound magic pl-50 iem

i still do use my iem but would prefer a headphone as it's easy to put on n take off

any suggestions? prefer one that has better sq than the pl-50

p/s: other significant preferences are wide sound stage for the background music, and good bass for some rap rock thumping as well as clarity for me to jizz over mariah's voice n most importantly, gotta be comfy on the ear n head for long hrs tongue.gif
*
Superlux HD668B
Or the Fischer Audio FA-004.
Or Grado SR60i.

-Superlux: They say it has good clarity and quite good bass. Very cheap. Lower than your budget actually. Was about to buy one but as it will be my first headphone, I opted for the more established headphone(read further).

-Fischer Audio FA-004: Gets good reviews. Some say less realistic treble, boomy bass and so on. Others say good bass with a tad bit of boom, nice sound stage for a closed headphone, comfortable. It is rather smallish though. I was about to buy this as well, but then further inquiries led me to doubt it. Fischer Audio reviews all over the net tend to be a bit biased sometimes, so not willing to take the risk, I didn't buy it.

-Grado SR60i: In the end I bought these. Not very comfortable but after stretching the headband a little, it was more tolerable(for about 2 hours). Sound leaks from and into it, you'd look like a WW2 bomber pilot, needs a higher volume on my source to get decent volume. However, energetic sound signature with good quality bass(decent amount), good clarity, a bit sibilant, might not be the best for female vocals but quite decent for casual listening. The most expensive of the three.

For music Philips and Audio Technica is obvious.
Logitech is more to multi-purpose multimedia.
