i dont recommend razer moray since its for gamers... not audiophile type... MP21 got mic and the sound is bassy and got great clarity and details too.... even non audiophile appreciated it.(eg. my friend who looked confused when 1st time listening to my pl21 because he hear sounds that he never heard when using the al - cheapo stock earphones...)

cant say... i never heard razer moray before.... but if u want audiophile quality... i can assure u MP21 will serve u good...

crossroad ok lah.... but i was thinking maybe a bit higher than that.... cyro treated cable LOD if u can afford it... it gives u more details and clarity...
but if ure on tight budget, crossroad would do justice for u

Alternatives? Erm let me see, we have sennheiser, audio technics, AKG, ficsher audio, ultrasone, AIAIAI, Denon etc...

So what do u expect on the headphones/iems? Clarity? Mids? Highs? Bass? All rounder? Up ur budget to rm600 and get urself a fischer audio dba - 02. Clean n detailed iem. And dont worry about bass, the lil sucker can handle low bass quite good if u have good isolation. This is my personal recommendation btw.

I know some product from panasonic to be audiophile fav. But it is not ur average consumer type of earphone. JVC with their victor HA FX700. As this industries grown, people are not bout to this typical brand only. For instance soundmagic, fiio and unique melody, if im not in this audiophile thingie i would assume that product is some low ass product with low ass quality, but its not...

But that does not mean that the sony, philips and pana is a bad product, but more to its tailored to be more on normal consumers. And philips, sony and pana mostly produce alot of electrical stuff, as to senns, denon, audio technica, akg, shure specialize mostly on the head/ear phones (and mics too)

Hippo boom or soundmagic pl21. I have pl21 and i can give u a hell of a bass without sacrifising the detail. Pl21 for me is a balance phone with added bass for kicks.

DAC only works for computers, like a sound card and actually u already answer the question about it.
Amp or amplifier what it does is amplify the signal of ur player (ipod, gumstick, sony mp3 player, cd player etc) to make it better. Mostly amp is an option because like gumstick, its already equip with class A inside it but most of us still use amp to give it more details/bass or maximise the sound.
Its an option really, like for eg. Fiio E5 does boost the bass and tighten the details a tad better than using it without unamp. Anyways, i suggest u audition it for urself to experience it, as my word is just a mere personal thoughts and my personal experince
