Does anyone here knows how much we get charged for activating facetime by the telcos? Apparently in order to activate facetime, iphone 4 will send a sms to Apple's server to register your number. This sms will be charged as international sms by our telcos. What concerns me more are some of the points made in the following article.

Pay close attention to point 1. It says iPhone 4 will automatically attempt to register facetime when a sim is swapped. My question is since I travel frequently between Singapore and Malaysia and have 2 localized sim cards for my iPhone 4, will it automatically registers facetime EVERY SINGLE TIME I swap my sim?

Secondly, if I restore my iPhone for whatever reason (like unjailbreak etc), do I have to pay for facetime activation again? If so, that would seriously suck!

If anyone has facetime activated, perhaps you might wanna share your activation experience.

I think you are in Zoom mode, just use three finger and tap the screen twice and it will be back to normal.

I don't know if it's the new JB or my iphone pc suite backup or IOS4.0.1 but somehow the sorting of contact looks weird/unsorted and changing the sorting & display name in 'Settings' also didn't give any effect...anybody knows? tapping the alphabet on the side also didn't do anything..plus i can't even search my contact to filter out although i can manually find it by scrolling down..

its best dont upgrade first.. wait for a stable release first. 4.1 beta 2 is confirm not stable since 4.1 beta 3 is already release to developers.

double click ur home button.. then manually close all the app one by one.. it sucks rite? hehe

this feature is meant for 3G[S] ... don't really need to quit apps ... why do you guys need to close apps anyway?

im just guessing its consume more battery since more apps are running on the background?

or maybe im wrong? enlighten me plss. hehe

nope, suspended apps do not consume any more battery.

I found it OK at first... after 1 month... got tired of the slowness... now back to 3.1.3 . bad news is that 4.0 backup (SMS, game data, contacts) cannot be sync-ed to 3.1, cos its older firmware...

Omg, i just found that i've so many apps running background.
Yeah, my gf also feels that battery life become longer after closing all the apps.

found it much better than 3.x firmware. multitasking is nice..
battery life seems a bit better than 3.x ( or maybe just my imagination , hmm)

guys, anyone here using iphone 4, iOS 4.0 with Digi data plan?

I realized my ip4 isn't getting Digi's 3G signal at all. always Edge only. The icon at top also just display E but never seen 3G showing up before.
I'm at my home in Damansara area and it has 3G coverage according to digi's website.
Pages in Safari are loading slow too. Besides switching On the 3G settings in Settings>General>Network>Enable 3G, is there something else i need to do to use Digi's 3G?

I called up Digi's CS and the lady told me she would send the setting to me and after 1 hour, switch off and on back my phone to see if the 3G signal is there. i told them i using iphone 4 and with iOS4, they say it's ok (not sure how much this CS lady know about these things though). now after 1 hour already, i didn't get any message/setting sent by Digi. I went ahead to Off and On back my phone but still same.

could it be due to my SIM card in anyway?
anybody can help?

the apn for digi would be 'diginet' rite?

the problem is, in iOS4.0, there's no where to set the APN settings anymore. It used to be in the Cellular Data Network option. Now it's just On Off switch..
