fuel injection i know is like a needle to cucuk miyak to engine~but how does it take air?its like a air filtter in fuel injection??
*
the engine direct pull air from the filter intake. the injector is placed somewhere along the intake near to cylinder and spray fuel.

Do you think this Air Filter will increase our LC's power...?
*
Notice some are paper filters, some are sponge-like, or foam-like filters... the sponge/foam like is good as it can be cleaned and reused... paper filter takut kena petrol when there's a blow back through the carb, and then all the dust will stick to it, and can not be cleaned.

hehe, yeah. if you don't mind DIY, can buy a sponge air filter of other bike, plus a piece of wire mesh, and glue to the stock paper filter frame. Of course, remove the paper from the old one first.
If don't wanna dig out the stock one, go to motor shop see got throw away one or not, and we try to make one?

DIY is quite common in the angmoh countries, or among the classic bike rebuilds...

Mean we go find the LC's stock air filter that people don't want already.. and then go buy sponge air filter( but just take the sponge filter only) then glue to stock one?

The sponge, we get new one, but cut it to size. We can probably get a big bike replacement kit and DIY. Only the LC filter bracket we salvage from a used one. But, this will not be a BIG performance increase... don't put up too much hope. This is really just to have a good air filter solution.

Yeah got. my TZ is using. RG using a broken paper filter, now left only the wire mesh after washing with soap twice.

Normal paper filter not supposed to be washed, only use air gun to clean.
K&N makes those look like paper filter, with lipat-lipat, and they are 100% washable also.

Either foam or K&N is a good solution.
I've found a website showing how to mod an K&N filter, and one comment posted LC can use BM-1199. This model is replacement for BMW R1100S.
BM-1199 product page

Compare foam vs K&N filter (pics from http://www.abrmoto.co.uk/):

hi, newbie 135LC here ...

why my LC top speed just reach 120kmh? previously my 135LC max top speed can be until 150kmh - 160kmh, i didnt change anything at the moment and standard factory.

The Issues: before this my timing very low, and frequently engine off "automatically". So i go to "random" workshop to adjust the timing ... i noticed they adjust at my carburetor settings.

My question here: "did i need reset back my carburetor to factory settings, will effect for the top speed? and how about the problem with low timing?"

Welcome gemo! It is a good bike and congrats for finding us here. smile.gif

1. When timing low, has it always been like that? Or only start to get worse at the time. What's the mileage now?
2. When't the last time you clean the air filter?
3. Did the kedai open up the carb? Or just use a screwdriver to adjust it? Carb setting affect top speed only if change mainjet or mainjet needle. If kedai didn't open the carb, it shouldn't affect.

1. It always has been like that, especially when warm up the engine.
My 135LC since 2007 with 25k mileage and rarely used previously, never used for long distance yet.

2. Never doing that since i buy it.

3. They just adjust using screwdriver on it and didnt open anythings.
