claim warranty? now my main issue is just the back button i think the inside is misplace already that's why cannot press..

but I dont know can claim warranty on hardware keys or not cause mine is an AP Set
*
SD card faulty will happen from time to time. Its your luck actually. But most branded sd card will give you warranty if there is no physical damage. Just whether you want to go through the hassle of claiming warranty.

If the button cannot be fixed with hard reset (sometimes some program can remap the keys) then its most probably hardware issue which can only be solved with warranty claim unless you are a technical guy who likes to take the phone apart and fix it yourself and void your warranty. smile.gif

I think AP also can claim warranty on hardware problem rite.

Anyway, I just got my HD2 back from SIS. 3 weeks just to replace the mainboard. Seems like they got issue with the mainboard stock and have problem ordering them. Really bad after sales service.

anyone out here if u are there reply,

with motherboard issues ? I read online seems to happen quite a lot of people too, hope mine doesn't have it later smile.gif cross fingers
*
Yes thats me. Overheat issue. Device will restart when making calls, data, gps etc. Changed mainboard, seems ok so far no more restart problem. Good thing got SIS warranty (though it took them 3 weeks to change it).

The overheat issue seems to be common. SIS didn't even ask much when i send it in. After i explain my situation, they put down a note to the tech no change mainboard. They may have received alot of these cases. It seems common for snapdragon processor device such as HD2, desire, nexus one, etc. though the percentage of people having this problem is not big. So keep your finger cross that you don't have a defective mainboard.

Evilpuppy is also having problem with his mainboard but I think his case is different from mine.

LOL. Keep your fingers cross. Like I said there are issues with the mainboard but the percentage is quite small.

What make you say HD2 can't play video? With the correct player it will play all mobile formats. biggrin.gif
*
I think slaymaster was referring to the video on facebook which WM cannot play as our browser don't support the latest flash (or rather the other way around) and we don't have any good facebook app.

currently using capdase as my phone cover.. but it totally cover the phone shape.. turns the sharp look into a fat plump phone.. haha

any idea how to protect the phone other than silicone case?
*
I was also using capdase flip top cover but find that the plastic holder covers the bottom part of the battery cover which get very hot on heavy use (preventing heat loss). Since I had previous problem with overheat I think i develop some kind of phobia and have stop using it. lol. blink.gif

Now i am not using any cover except for my screen protector. ohmy.gif

Hi , would like to ask

How to use Handwriting in english for sms texting / notes in HTC HD2 ?

the handwriting for english is rather 1 alphabet by alphabet

can it be 1 word by 1 word ? is it possible

sry for being nooby
*
There is an input method called Transcriber. It is usually included with WM5, 6 and 6.1. Dunno if it is included with WM6.5. I am not using the stock ROM so can't check for you. Transcriber allow handwriting more than 1 word at a time. But isn't it difficult to do handwriting without a stylus?

received my repaired hd2 from sis glenmarie today. (very fast indeed, since i make a quick call to my seller(one of our forum-er) to expedite the process,
well i should come to him first instead of going direct to Sis...(wasted a week for nothing!)

but the phone i received is totally not my previous phone, it is a swap phone with my imei sticker cut and stick on the back. 1 thing good is my phone hv little scratch on the body due to my own abuse (now i got scratch free phone!) but the bad thing is the sis warranty sticker is dated 09 instead of 10 as i originally bought it. and the imei and s/n in the hardware info is totally different (but it is clearly stated on the service/repaired form that they change it).

the problem is i know we are having s/n for asian region starting with HT0xxxxxxxx but the replace parts is MB0xxxxxxx, any HTC sifu knows which country s/n is beginning with MB0xxx ?
im afraid later on i would not be able to update software form htc asia which use s/n for updating....
and if im going to sell or trade it i will have a lot of things to tell to the new buyer for the differences...what a mess..

should i resend back and complaints to Sis for the hassle im going to have??? or live with it ....
o what a phone!!!
*
SIS only changed the mainboard on my unit. Same screen protector and other signs on my unit. They changed the sticker so I have a new imei BUT they used back the same s/n. My warranty sticker is the same.

When I check in the About section, the s/n have been changed to MB0xxxxxxxx (as they cannot alter this). Maybe this s/n is for new batch of mainboard.

I think you need to clarify back with SIS that the new s/n AND the actual warranty date is recorded in their system to avoid future complication.

Thanks for ur reply.i have some question related to ur suggestion.
if doing hard reset, is the phone will locked again?and i have to unlock it again?my phone is Tmobile. i bought it and unlocked it to use it in Malaysia.

if the motherboard is the problem, how much is the cost to fix it?and where should i fix it?
*
I don't think a hard reset will lock back your phone as it is tied to your IMEI. You can read this thread on XDA. Please read until the end.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread...set+unlock+code

Where to fix it if it is hardware problem will be a bigger headache. I can only assume SIS will NOT repair your phone as it is T-Mobile with different mainboard from normal HTC. Hence they may not be able to help you even if they want. But you can try nevertheless. No harm there. No idea about the cost.

But first of all try to determine if this is hardware related. Hard reset is the only way to find out.

icon_question.gif Anybody play NFS SHIFT ? Why the steering malfunction when tilting my HD2??
*
Its due to conflict with resco apps/games.

To get it to work you need to remove SmiSensorServer_1.dll from Windows folder. Put it somewhere else on the device like for example the Resco Photo Manager folder.

i can't find SmiSensorServer from Window folder. hmm.gif
*
1. Do you have any Resco (Photo Manager, Snake or Bubbles) installed?
2. Are you using the default explorer to go into windows folder?
3. If yes have you choosen to 'show all files' in the Menu as .dll files will be hidden?
4. We are talking about the latest NFS shift with the superb graphics right?

Should be fine. NFS should now work and resco apps should not be affected.

I was using the clear one. Screen look very nice but got tired of cleaning it daily. So now i am using matte screen protector. Screen is not so nice but i can live with it..

It depends on your wants/needs.

On the ROM I am using Miri rom now. Its good, light, stable and never had any issue with it.

Garmin does not use data. It only uses the GPS. So there is no cost to use it.

What's new in HSPL3 vs HSPL2
*
Nothing. HSPL 3 only got 2.08.0000 and 2.08 HSPL. This is recommended for Tmous HD2 user to avoid bricking their device by selecting the wrong SPL.

Normal HD2 can use HSPL 2 / 3 without problems.

Custom ROM using 3.14 as base have been available for quite sometime now. I am using Miri's for a month now with 2.15 radio without any problem.

The official 3.14 will have issue if you use it with current HSPL or lower SPL. It is not compatible.

Is there any line on each edges of your HD2 ? Just notice there's a really deep line on my top left there ...
*
Apart from the line where the glass screen meets the casing, there are no other lines on my device. Maybe you can upload a photo to show us this line.

Oh that. With the screen facing me i have that on the top right hand corner. But mine is not that deep. I think its just a defect in the casing fabrication.

the file 'xxx' cannot be opened. Either it is not signed with a trusted certificate or one of its components cannot be found. if the problem persists try reinstalling or restoring the file
tried that wont even let me install too

Are these programs on your SD card. Could your card be corrupted? Try formating the card or use a different SD card.

I have read on xda before that HD2 seems to have issue with Sandisk SD card. But i doubt anyone can actually prove it. There seem to be more complain about HD2 corrupting Sandisk compared to other brands (kingston, transcend, etc.)

So my advise is try another brand and always keep a backup of your files.
