This has been bugging me since I've watched The Social Network months ago; how does it define a generation?

Oh, and I also don't get why people say its 'inspiring'.. I mean, its not like Zuckerberg was an average guy with average IQ who developed a billion dollar empire. He was a freaking genius surrounded by people of the same intellectual capacity during his tenure at Harvard. If you're not a genius, then its not gonna be inspiring..

awesome movie, had to repeat a few scenes just to grasp what they were talking about, and oh yeah, when Sean told the gal who he'd slept with that he's the creator of Napster, the gal replied "Sean Parker?", strange coz the name "Shawn Fanning" comes to mind...

It doesn't. Facebook defines a generation. This movie isn't really about Facebook.

It's because they don't understand the meaning of the word. biggrin.gif

good directing by david fincher
but the storyline not so much inspiring for me tongue.gif
i just feel like the facebook is as just the same as other social network online services... thumbup.gif
such as myspace, twitter or even friendster...
but the brilliant in facebook is just because the founder is a "young man who know what a young mind really want"...
he know that many guys like to stalk girls..
he know that they like to talk about them self online...
express them self online.. like the one he do it on his blog
want to know what their friends up to...who he/she dating..."WALL"

p/s: but can zack still doing it when he reach certain age??can facebook maintain their popularity in next 5@10 years?? tongue.gif

Perhaps the pacing of the script. Its a little too fast and you're expected to know how the movie flows. That's a little bit taxing on both areas.

it's because u can't catch up. the pacing is EXCELLENT. the story telling is PERFECT. the acting is GREAT. the only problem with this movie is........the audience who watch it can't catch up sometimes. watch it a second time and u'll agree with me. this is by far the best movie of 2010 (8/10)

I've watched almost all the Oscar contenders except for The Fighter and The King's Speech and I still say this movie is still the best movie of 2010 and WILL WIN THE BEST PICTURE AWARD. Amazing performance by the entire ensemble, brilliantly directed, flawless script, beautifully shot it's a modern masterpiece.

True that. After watching "The Hurt Locker", I felt this movie was going to win Best Picture. It is that "extra element" that leaves a... very profound feeling after watching the movie.

"The Social Network" is a very, very watchable and entertaining movie. It is done with such brilliance and there is no gun fight or action sequences, unless you consider the laptop being thrown on the floor as an action scene. tongue.gif

I haven't watched "Black Swan", "The Figher" and "The King's Speech" though.

From what I've read and heard, "Black Swan" could bag it too!

The Golden Globes is this Sunday.

The movie basically wants to portray what kind of man Zuckerberg is.

Hes a man which dont like to be pushed around and do what he wants.
At the 1 millionth membership celebration, he actually wanted to reconcile with Saverin, but it didnt went as he planned, cos Saverin lashed out on him before he can explain.

Zuckerberg doesnt care about the money, he would gladly split his share with Saverin, but not until he makes Saverin feel how he felt.

Zuckerberg wanna sack Parker from the start, even more so when he went "rough" on his friend.

Did you notice, theres actually 2 sets of those boxed business cards, it was supposed to be Saverin's.

And yeah, Zuckerberg has a big effing ego, he wont tell the truth to anyone.

Ricky Gervais said he saving the most offensive jokes for the Golden Globes... biggrin.gif

Winning Golden Globes is somewhat "big deal" for the stars, though it seem to have lost its shine this year more than ever.

Still most of the nominations indicate who the Oscar contenders are and I'm sure the winners would be more than happy to win.

lolno. Golden Globes doesn't show any indication on who's going to win the Oscars. It rarely does that! And nobody watches GG for the awards anymore since it's a big joke (further proven with this year's field of Best Comedy). But I'll watch it because of Ricky.

The biggest threat right now is Black Swan and The King's Speech. But imo, The King's Speech popularity is dwindling down so it's pretty much 90% chance of TSN winning with the rest going to Black Swan.

The deal is that they get to go to a big party and eat and drink for free. In fact, the Golden Globes are notorious in that most of the stars who show up there get drunk. laugh.gif

I seriously doubt The Tourist is gonna be Oscar-nominated for anything. rolleyes.gif

Lol, yeah "The Tourist". biggrin.gif

Maybe its a way Hollywood Foreign Press trying to embarass Johnny Depp and Angelina Jolie ?

I wonder what their faces would be like when they're announcing their names before giving out the Golden Globe...

I remember Tom Cruise shaking his head while smiling as they announced the nominees for playing Les Grossman in Tropic Thunder

No, I'm pretty sure it's their way of inviting two of the world's biggest stars to their party. biggrin.gif

You know what makes me pissed about The Tourist getting nominated in GG? Now their DVD will have a banner stating "Golden Globe nominees: Best Picture: Comedy and Best Actor". FFFFUUUU

Mark Zuckerberg -- Modest Move

Mark Zuckerberg of Facebook and "Social Network" fame has made a big move -- into a 3,800 square foot rental in Palo Alto, CA.

user posted image

Zuckerberg, whose estimated worth is $7 billion, now has to walk just a few blocks to work.

The house has five bedrooms and four bathrooms, in case Sean Parker comes to visit. The home also has a tricked out security system.

Nice to see a 26-year-old who knows how to manage his money.

Mark Zuckerberg, 26 years old = 7 billion US dollar sweat.gif
