focusing screen is a screen that is placed above the mirror and below the OVF, effectively right in between the mirror and OVF.
one of them is a type of split screen, its purpose is used mainly in manual focusing, where there is usually a split screen, u turn the focusing ring until the image on both sides of the screen lines up and is in focus. u can see this mostly in older day slrs where AF capable lenses and bodies are still very young. Added on June 24, 2010, 7:25 pmon FF alphas, you can easily swap different screens for different usages, for example, like the one i mentioned above. so far, i know of sony provided focusing screens are G, L and M types This post has been edited by lwliam: Jun 24 2010, 07:25 PM |

QUOTE(lwliam @ Jun 24 2010, 07:19 PM) focusing screen is a screen that is placed above the mirror and below the OVF, effectively right in between the mirror and OVF. I see because just looking some thread saying those old film SLR like K-3 focusing screen install on the DSLR will improve the focus accuracy but I'm not is true or not, now I get it.one of them is a type of split screen, its purpose is used mainly in manual focusing, where there is usually a split screen, u turn the focusing ring until the image on both sides of the screen lines up and is in focus. u can see this mostly in older day slrs where AF capable lenses and bodies are still very young. hmm so is only useful for MF? AF don't have any effects? This post has been edited by wingster: Jun 24 2010, 07:28 PM |

zstan: The A700/A850/A900 vertical grips have almost all the settings.
wingster: You won't get better AF with a different viewfinder. You'll get a different MF experience, though. However MF Check LV means it does not matter what viewfinder screen you are using! ![]() My new camera! |
