Hi Claire,

The pet store in Sungei Wang specializes in small furry animals. So GPs, Ground Hogs, Ferrets, Hamsters, Rabbits. But it's like a real small store. So Don't expect much. But I did get a really nice GP travel bag there.

I also had the same thought that 2 female GPs will be less aggressive then 2 male GPs. But I have had no problem with my 2 males. I believe all GPs are like people. They all have their own unique temperament. So having 2 females, they may fight as well. But I find the best way to pick a GP is, get the one you feel connected to. When I saw my Omelette, I knew he was the one. He has a great personality and was not scared. We connected pretty well.

After spending several weeks hunting for GPs in different Pet stores and online shops/forums. I find that once you have that connection. You will know what is right for you.

But don't be discouraged if your GPs don't connect immediately. Some GPs take time to warm up due to a change of environment. But have fun and enjoy your GP hunting. Do check carefully that the GPs are healthy. My omelette has some fur mites. This is common in Pet shops that just clump all their GPs together. This means I gotta spend more money to bring him to the vet to be treated, and that means more stress for poor omelette. He just had his first injection last week and it was the first time I ever saw his eyes bulge out so much. So if you have a healthy GP, you can avoid all of this.

I got omelette for RM35 and Bacon for RM188 cos he's a peruvian.

Peruvians/Shelties and coronets are usually more expensive.

Abbys are quite common but are about RM60

Hey Lionel, I went to Sungei Wang last Friday but couldn't find the pet store. I asked the lady at the Information counter, but she said there isn't any pet store in Sg Wang. Do you recall which floor it is located? Or...could it be BB Plaza ah...?

I've seen pics of people using those low garden fences (plastic ones) to make GP cages instead of cubes. Thought of getting those instead. What do you all think?

as long as it does the job of fencing up and ur pig dont not cross over and the price is within ur budget is ok.. But last time i check also bout the same price each at rm5 at daiso.. And a bit short on the height..

The pet shop is very extremely small its on the 2nd floor of Sungai Wang .. next to the shop that sell a lot of male formal clothes that started with the letter 'M' i think is Masushita or something sound like so ...    you can see it right after u get up using the escalator ...

Cause it just open this January according to sales girl .. but its really small, and i dont recomment you to buy pellets there as i see the pellets there is actually no suitable for Guinea Pig the ingredient, but you can get hay from there, pretty fresh also as its new open.

Hi Xavi, I found the fences being sold at DIY shops for RM14.90 for a bundle of 5 fences. Each fence is about 27.7cm wide and is quite ok on the height too. If I use these fences to build the GP cage, can I still use cloroplast as the base? Then put some fleece and hay.... hehe

Yes I've been looking for female GPs for 2 months now and I have not found many female GPs. Out of 20-30 male GPs, I might see 1 female GPs. There is defintely a shortage of female GPs.

the plastic fencing is like tis one is it? if the height is ok then should be no problem.. regarding the chewing .. i doubt they will chew ur fence if this type de.. most likely chew ur coroplast 1st.. so u must reinforce ur coroplast side with a hard plastic called edge cap-->
this will hinder them from chewing on the coroplast.

yeah i think so .. of all the petshop i tried to hunt GP down .. all is male .. i really wonder why .. maybe i need to reconsider a baby boyfriend for my gurl instead...

Crys if you want to get Yuki a bf there is so many thing to consider..have to buy a new cage since you have to separate them..huhu..if no hassle then ok lor..better get a female so it is easier..huhu

tak tahu.. galga seem to be on the fat side.. but i m not sure she is pregnant or not.. choco jus recover a bit .. i dont think wanna put her through another try out.. although yesterday i did mix her with teddy again.. but she is not ready.. so she is single again..
