actually the sliding fail doesn't lead to any hardware problem, it's just causes by firmware itself, otherwise you can try flash it to CFW (if you wanna do so) haha laugh.gif

interested in purchasing the nokia 5800. but i have only been using SE till now. was hoping someone could perhaps tell me the upsides and the downsides of 5800. and between XM and navi, which is the way to go. heard theres some freezing going with symbian and the back of the phone will tend to heat up during calls, true?
*
i switched from my SE P1i to this phone, so far work fine and great... thumbup.gif
btw, symbian phone is using processor and ram to run, so it's almost as same as PC.
freeze or lag is a common problem for all symbian phone out there nod.gif

Hi guys, I wish to get a car holder so that it will easier for me when i using GPS navigation in my car. But where is the most suitable place i should put my car holder at the windscreen? Top, bottom, left or right?

Will the heat damage the nokia 5800 xm since the it directly exposed to SUN?

Anyone of u guys using car holder? Please advise....
*
i put it bottom right, near to the dashboard beside steering... that place kinda strategied and won't block our view

sometime it will exposed to sunlight but use it only navigation and important routing... the bottom right kinda nice place for me cause it blocked sunlight from the right side by the car body

u guys have any experience where the phone drains the battery till dry?
Nothing is running, the phone just feel hot and the battery is draining like crazy.

Happens to me a few times already, especially after charging
*
might have some problem didn't fully close, or hidden process is running... try use Ram Blow, it can automatically kill unused program/process and boost your RAM too...

i just updated my firmware to v50 and now some apps can't display roman characters for eg. a, b, c, d....
This only happens in several applications but okay for the rest.

Anyone with any solutions will be appreciated.  Thanks! smile.gif

as long as its the same phone it will be alright. If u copy the garmin folder to another phone it wont work because different IMEI

Garmin activation is depend on phone's IMEI and SIM Telco, once changed phone or switched SIM to another Telco might result in activation fail

I can guarantee you this phone is 100% worth the money.
Problem or not is depends on the user, not the phone itself.
You can even change the 5800's desktop like mine :

But i found it a bit buggy, so i am planning to format my phone again and use back the original one  blush.gif
Bingo  rclxms.gif
You using it too?
SPBSHELL need to flash firmware one or not?
*
i'm using it too... i tried both SPB Shell and Gdesk.
from what i observe, the SPB Shell did nicer but ate up more than 15~25MB Ram while Gdesk take about 1~2MB Ram only... thumbup.gif

Added on August 17, 2010, 5:45 pmsometime overcharge won't effect ur battery since the technology is there, your phone will cut off the circuit itself to prevent extra charge...
