3D TV is still in its infancy. Consumers can expect to see more improvements/innovations to b rolled out. IMHO, watching 3D stuff over a 40" is NOT exciting at all. So unless you have a lot o mullah, go for HD.
Note also that to play 3D contents, you'd need to invest in a 3D BD player too...more mullah! Besides, 3D contents are somewhat limited while HD ones are in abundance

QUOTE(ShenWoo @ Jun 11 2010, 12:18 AM) Well, 3D has just been introduced and all the diff companies has their own brand of "glasses". I say the technology is still in its Guinea Pig stage, unlike the LCD, Plasma and even LED technology (Don't be fooled, LED IS LCD, just with different back light. A real LED would have no back light but supported by individual LEDs on each pixel. Sadly this technology is still to far more expensive to be done) Your best bet, minus 3D is getting a LED TV with local dimming, unlike the edge lit. You can google and see what a huge difference these two makes . Yeah dude, I've heard about the real LED tvs as well. They are called OLED, short for organic LED if I am not mistaken. They are supposed to have much more better picture quality compared to plasmas or lcds. Some mobile devices are already using this tech. Samsung and Sony are already on it. The screens are much thinner too. Maybe I should just wait for these babes to come. The tech might be out by end of this year I read.

QUOTE(Omage007 @ Jun 10 2010, 11:37 PM) The one he mention should be the LA46C750R2R, 46" 3D but normal LCD not LED one. . . BTW why HD or 3D? you can turn the 3D on or off one, no? Yeah ur right. I saw that price (RM8999) at astroview magazine. Quiet weird why electronic company more focus on 3D LED than 3D LCD? 3D LCD TV should be cheaper compare to LED.

QUOTE(minimize @ Jun 10 2010, 10:22 PM) 3D is fantastic. I feel PQ 3D on HDTV is more stunning than cinema. But it still expensive. The cheapest one is samsung series 7 46" RM8999. Todays a lot if movie came with 3D. I wont go into tis argument but would like to correct tis statement.. AFAIK d only 3d mv now is Monsters vs Aliens.. no doubt eventually ther will be a lot more.. All d other 3D ttls like Hanna Montana, Journey... , Coraline r d older gen sets tat uses anaglyph glasses.. D

If you have a PS3, I recommend you to get a 3D TV. There will be games that supports the feature and the console will be able to play 3D blu-ray DVDs when it receives the firmware update that enables it.
3D features in TV's right now are primarily meant for 2-4 hours of usage per session. Pretty much the average timespan you spend watching movies and play games. If you feel uncomfortable after that, you can always turn off the feature and play 2D.
Ultimately, you gotta go test it first before you decide. Some people can stand watching 3D through glasses for hours, some can't.

I'd like to think this 3D thinggy just a gimmick as will passed on.. As a person who's wearing glasses.. I'm yet to try a comfortable 3D glasses get nausea after long period of time.. Until they get it right (which might take a long time).. i say safe bet now to go with the best of HD can offer now.
