I am still a SD viewer. Been using a projection TV for years and now the quality is fading. Maybe it is time to move on with the latest tech.
But should I get a HDTV or wait for 3DTVs to mature? Not in a hurry for a new TV though.

I've checked the sony 3d tvs. They played some sample videos which looked great but I dont know how movies would look, I mean watching for like two hours straight with that glasses. I guess sports would fantastic though. And i doubt we would get any 3d content from astro soon as they have just introduced HD. Blu-rays are freaking expensive. I heard that 3dtvs without glasses would be coming in the not so distant future. Just dont know when.

QUOTE(ShenWoo @ Jun 11 2010, 12:18 AM) Well, 3D has just been introduced and all the diff companies has their own brand of "glasses". I say the technology is still in its Guinea Pig stage, unlike the LCD, Plasma and even LED technology (Don't be fooled, LED IS LCD, just with different back light. A real LED would have no back light but supported by individual LEDs on each pixel. Sadly this technology is still to far more expensive to be done) Your best bet, minus 3D is getting a LED TV with local dimming, unlike the edge lit. You can google and see what a huge difference these two makes . Yeah dude, I've heard about the real LED tvs as well. They are called OLED, short for organic LED if I am not mistaken. They are supposed to have much more better picture quality compared to plasmas or lcds. Some mobile devices are already using this tech. Samsung and Sony are already on it. The screens are much thinner too. Maybe I should just wait for these babes to come. The tech might be out by end of this year I read.
