I am still a SD viewer. Been using a projection TV for years and now the quality is fading. Maybe it is time to move on with the latest tech.
But should I get a HDTV or wait for 3DTVs to mature? Not in a hurry for a new TV though.

Just get a HD TV.
3D HD TVs are still pricey. 3D glasses that come with them also pricey. Some of the 3D glasses batteries don't last long.. I.E. Sony ones only last 8 hours...
I found that if I watched 3D in a room with lights, I don't feel dizzy.. some shows, if watch in a dark room, I'd feel dizzy...maybe you guys who feel dizzy can try viewing them again in a lighted room?

3D lost alot of details.... big nono for movie... well, nice on animation though...it's somthing like childplay, u got the wow 1st then follow by then personally dont like 3D they said 3D make things real... but it actually make everything look fake...too graphic... i think it also depends on your viewing style... i also like to try 3D TV... havent tried it yet... maybe going to try today in one utama...
but from what i can see... i like to lie down and move a lot during watching tv or movies or even playing games... so to me wearing 3d glasses while do all this not so convenient to me...
so i vote for hdtv... anyway its still up to your preference...

I go for 3D, the price different is not much between the two, (if your compare the Samsung Series 7 to Samsung series 7 3D TV) the 3D TV can also play 2D, don't regret like me bought the 2D HDTV last year now want 3D TV cost another 13K to buy one. It's better off getting one which can pay 2D picture in 3D so all your Astro HD programme will be play in 3D. Try to view the 3D movies on Tv you will appreciate the picture.

I've checked the sony 3d tvs. They played some sample videos which looked great but I dont know how movies would look, I mean watching for like two hours straight with that glasses. I guess sports would fantastic though. And i doubt we would get any 3d content from astro soon as they have just introduced HD. Blu-rays are freaking expensive. I heard that 3dtvs without glasses would be coming in the not so distant future. Just dont know when.

3D is fantastic. I feel PQ 3D on HDTV is more stunning than cinema. But it still expensive. The cheapest one is samsung series 7 46" RM8999.
Todays a lot if movie came with 3D.

Well, 3D has just been introduced and all the diff companies has their own brand of "glasses". I say the technology is still in its Guinea Pig stage, unlike the LCD, Plasma and even LED technology (Don't be fooled, LED IS LCD, just with different back light. A real LED would have no back light but supported by individual LEDs on each pixel. Sadly this technology is still to far more expensive to be done) Your best bet, minus 3D is getting a LED TV with local dimming, unlike the edge lit. You can google and see what a huge difference these two makes .

HD LCD does mean got 3D one, but most if not all 3D LCD now are HD one. . . for now you need to pay around 25%-35% more to get the extra 3D function, if money does matter then 3D is not for you. . .

U think sony or other companies stupid n nvr think bout that aa??? Actually it's you who are not quite bright. 3D does have effect on various people. It has been proven and tested. And long term effect, nobody can tell yet. Until maybe 20 years later when it's too late and your eyes has pop out of your sockets. By then SONY will remove their products from the line up...but too late for you.... TS: HD is the way to go. 3D is just a fad.
