Good there, but the spoiled speaker doesn't sound good. If the amp conditions were good you can try compile it yourself the amp into a box.
*
only the looks is bad, i ripped a good pair of samsnug speakers to replace the broken one and currently the amp is housed in a shoe box.
i read that my BGM2K is similar to r1900t only half as powerful with tda2030. i guess i have to buy a real one when i receive my paycheck =)
i tested the amp, it seems to be at high risk of burning out when the volume pot is rusty. as you turn the dial the power light indicator flickers.
for those of you that have r1900t, can you tell me if you experience same thing?
QUOTE(chchyong89 @ Aug 17 2010, 12:43 AM)
google for "gainclone" if u are interested in s2k amplifier section.

thanks for help =)

err... not volume pot burn or anything
the power supply to the amp chip is interrupted and is connected to the line in
i don't know how to explain grrrr
so when you turn the volume up or down.... the amp chip might blow when your volume pot gets old?

amp won't be murdered by old working pot, if you short the pot's pin, yes....old pot will make some buzzing sound when you turn the volume, worst case is loud clicking noise. It is because the internal of the pot had oxidized. Imbalance channel also cause by oxidized pot....now most edifier speaker volume pot had grease inside prevent oxidation and smooth turning feel.
*
thank you, its great help i realised my pot has died and is causing short circuits at a certain point
problem solved =)

i went to cash converters in pj at lunch break today, i saw edifire c3 selling there 2nd,3rd,? ? ? hand for rm169?? condition looks okayla

looking at the parts inside on the other thread here, it looks like its a low down version of al**c's 21** model. the construction and materials looks 'less'
and it is housed in a separate housing instead of inside the sub?
i do not think it is worth buying for mod... maybe i should wait and see if there is better models there later. i kind of prefer the 2.0s

foreword: please don't shoot me down for thinking out loud =)
i thinking the way the it is being made is not very right
the sub of c3 is 8" 8ohm?
i think the optimal speakers that it should run on maximum is 6x9" 4 ohms for its amp chip on bridged configuration
and it is made for best connected to computer saundcard only because of the opamp circuit inside.
also the original power filter cap is way too small to support such huge sub

how much is the original price of it anyway? now? is cash converters cheating for the price?
i was tempted to buy it at first. but now reconsidering because of the parts involved... and i'm a 2.0 lover

indeed is true that the amp doesn't provide enough power to move the subwoofer correctly.
One will have to mod them to be more powerful to allow the stiff suspension of the 8" sub to break in correctly.

but still I like how it sounds biggrin.gif

Edifier C3 costs RM400+/-

really wish to see what you can do to mod the C3. but if you still wants a 2.0 go for it then.
*
rm400!!!!!! wowwwwwwwww i think i have enough parts to actually build it myself??
hmmnn rxy makes me mouth water!@! time to go look inside my parts plastic bag
maybe i can build c3 amp hybrid with r1900t style 2.0 to save time and money modding the originals
