I reckon jcole at 28 want a guaranteed 1st team football rather then just high wage. I don't think he can really cement a place in Chelsea 1st eleven. Not because he is not good , but others are ahead of him.

Too bad we can't make a profit off him.
Thanks joe cole for your service to Chelsea.

Matic and Stoch? Not so soon. I think there will be surprises in store for us after the WC 2010, in transfers. Chelsea has been prevalent in most of the rumours already, if you ask me.

hmmm. yeah you might be right about matic, but i believe that stoch might replace joey. sharing the spot with another experienced right winger, kalou maybe?

i personally think we have enuff winger already..if we go 4-3-3

Malouda-Drogba-Kalou/Anelka

so, it means we need to replace Ballack position..Deco might leave as well, so maybe bring someone like Sneijder in..or Kaka..it is not impossible..Roman, Carlo n co must have plan something BIG..otherwise, they dun let the trio go..

Well first of all I’m quite impressed by how everyone’s so calm in handling our recent departures laugh.gif . I guess most of us are in agreement that it was the right time for them to go.

Has anyone else read about bally’s agent claiming his willingness to accept a 1 year deal on reduced wages? A bit strange that we didn’t take up the offer if this turns out to be true. However I applaud the management’s quick and decisive actions, if this was only about wages all along. We really are heralding in a new era, where astronomical paychecks are only given to the truly deserving. Considering the fact that carlo and wilkins had already expressed their desire to maintain joey’s services, I’m waiting to hear the player’s side of the story, after reading on vitalchelsea that he’ll ‘lift the lid’ about what went on during negotiations, after the world cup. hmm.gif

Now the lads in our reserve and youth squad will be filled with that little bit more of optimism, and this rings especially true for kakuta, stoch and matic. I’m happy for them, yet still sad we’re bidding our final farewells to joey, bella and bally. All the best to them and here’s to the future!

Aw13, I thought its like that every season biggrin.gif

extremely important year ahead for stoch imo. Wonder if his 'demands' for first team football next season had anything to do with joey's departure.

it might. stoch must have been doing very well during his loan, yes we've seen short previews but im sure the coaches watch the full games. joey would have easily accepted if he really wanted to stay at Chelsea but i guess maybe he wasnt offered? i like joey, but honestly he hasnt been at his best and a rare glimpse of magic here and there isnt enough to win titles.

True. Those rare glimpses are one of the reasons he isn’t in carlo’s first choice eleven. I wish there was some way we could guarantee he’ll be in blistering form for chelsea next season, but evidently that’s not the case and the board have opted for the obvious solution. Stoch’s successful loan spell means he’s at the top of his confidence now.

Like hidzwan said, chelsea definitely have some big plans in store. What’s most interesting is waiting to see how much money and youth promotion will be involved.
While I hope to see a bit of both, it certainly is a bad idea to go crazy on either one. Too many youngsters thrown into the mix too soon, and we risk being stuck in ‘transition’ for years. I’m sure nobody wants to see us become arsenal 1.5, while splashing too much cash will mean alienating our developing prospects.

COMMUNITY SHIELD 2010
QUOTE

The FA has announced that this year's Community Shield will see double winners Chelsea take on Premier League runners up, Manchester United, at Wembley on Sunday 8 August at 3pm.

The annual season curtain raiser is a repeat of last year's Community Shield which saw Chelsea win 4-1 on penalties after a 2-2 draw in normal time to give Carlo Ancelotti a winning start in the Stamford Bridge hotseat.

Almost 86,000 fans attended that match with The FA distributing all proceeds to nominated community and charitable projects across the country.

Ticket prices for the game haven't changed since 2006 and are priced at £40, £30, £20 and £15.

Selling details will follow.

Wow. That's great smile.gif
