My diamond 2 got indicator.. beside the speaker where we listen when talk on the phone.

the size was ok. IF u can let people stare at you for a while then realise its a Streak.. XD

got many attracted people walking on to me and ask bout the phone tho.

so far i summarize it a bit easier..

Pro's:
-Huge and great screen.
-Gorilla glass is very useful, tried poking and tapping it hard no problems.
-Very nice and user friendly layout and interface.
-Camera picture taken are great.
-Not as heavy as you think.
-Works as a hotspot in just few taps.
-Touchscreen works very very well, possible to type with thumbs
-Nice and Firm feel, not like plasticky kind of feel.
-Fits in all pocket.
-Fast mobile thanks to the 1GHz SnapDragon.
-Slim + sleek.
-Wi-Fi and fast HSPA connectivity
-Easy to sync media with a desktop computer
-Expandable memory up to 32GB
-Access to apps on Android Market
-Using a 3.5mm Jack which allows user to plug in their high-end earphones or headphones to enjoy their music/entertainment.
-Dedicated Camera button for AF and Snap button, most smartphones doensn't have this.
-Very good for user who online daily. You will have widgets like Facebook, Twitter, Gmail, Hotmail and etc on the huge screen. Can even see both updates at the same time and read the words without hussle.
-Front facing camera for video conference and Skype.
Con's:
-The device will switch off when you take out the battery cover when the phone is switched on.
-No indicator to see whether you have a miss call or sms.
-Touchscreen keyboard will miss some keys when you're typing to fast.
-Battery life is not as great as expected. SMS and Calls + Some games and Apps download basically 1 Day will Flat out d. Still depend on owner usage tho.
-Speaker facing backwards is a big let down, when pressing again your lap, cant hear your phone ring unless u set to vibrate+ring together.
-No multi-touch capability in Google Maps
-Android user interface hasn't been tweaked enough to fully take advantage of the big screen
-The connectivity port for charging and sync with PC. Since its not a MiniUSB, so everytime i work have to bring the cable around, go home then need remember bring home. When no battery/low batt, have to find the charger.
-Will become sluggish at times when using. Not very obvious but you can feel it slow down a while.
-Frequent water ripple can be seen when pressing the screen, even lightly.

This is what i get so far. Anything else i discover i will update again.

thanks for your simple yet informative review there. By the way, did you try out the speakerphone? There is a review mentioning that speakerphone for Streak is not so clear as if it sounds like under-water.
Also, how's the call quality? Can you hear the other clearly and vice versa?

i can hear clearly, but the bad thing is you need to position your ear properly to listen.. If the speaker is out of place not directly into your ears, you will have problem listening. And i sound like a old man over the phone. doh.gif

The speakerphone is a bit noisy but listenable..

huh really? But I thought the many reviewers online are quite fascinated by its battery lasting despite its 5" screen?
Also, I thought WIFI is less power consumption than 3G right? Please correct me if I'm wrong.

At least with my TP2, WIFI is much power efficient than using 3G data connection.

o... nice to know that. But do we have to complete discharge the battery before charging a few cycles for battery optimization or not?

Well.. actually really depend on how you use it.. if keep online or shop and download apps and play game sure fast finish. If regular calls and SMS lasted me 1 and a half day only, depending on how u use. I call and sms alot due to business so many tats why it drains faster.

The battery can just charge anytime you want la.. 1st charge make sure u charge it full la. dun charge and use charge and use. laugh.gif

For a huge touchscreen phone like this.. its great already, but the main problem tat pops out now is, IF you're on your way to a business meeting or anything far like a day business trip, phone low battery. then there is no where u can charge ur phone due to the port they use. No miniusb, have to bring the cable+adapter everywhere u go.

uh huh.... yeah GPS sure drains battery a lot. And I don't think there's a need to have TaskKiller software for Android device isn't it?
At least it didn't work much for my HTC G1 last time. Instead, killing the Task slows my G1 even more.

hmm.gif  I thought the most of the current battery doesn't require complete charge for 1st run already? Forgot what it called already, lithium or sth...

okay... I can understand such situation. lol...

well, in that case, might as well get yourself a portable charging equipment. Though I'm kinda worry if those unbranded charging equipment will do damage to the unit or not.

haha. true true. lol... however, if Streak exclusive usb cable has the capability of fast charge then it will be awesome.

by the way, the fast charge is based on the cable or the adapter? i find HTC charger charges my TP2 much faster than other charger such as Motorola charger...

Get a car charger... or spare battery. I think eBay is selling for 8GBP: 2 batteries, car charger and some other accessories

By the way, the time the phone takes to charge up is freaking long too sweat.gif Almost 3 hours for about 60%

it's weird,

with heavy usage, my Streak's battery last longer than my Galaxy S..

however as I just flashed my SGS to the latest beta JPH, the battery efficiency has improved a lot and both can really hold 1 and half days

I wanna confirm something with Streak user in LYN.. who is using Streak here pls reply me asap.

I wan you guys/ladies to try sumthing, hold the p[hone like a tablet, then press the battery cover as if you're going to bend/ break the phone. Just a bit of pressure behind the battery cover.. See if your phone restarts. I found out my phone keep restarts whenever the back battery cover is pressed too hard.
