There are two ways to control a flash: TTL or manual.
When using manual control, the distance, aperture, ISO and flash power affects the exposure. While in TTL, the distance, aperture and ISO affects the exposure as the camera is deciding the flash power for you. In both cases, the shutter controls the ambient light. Its a little confusing at first but you need to do some test shots to understand how it all comes together. You can read up further here A SB600 and Nissin is a pretty good combo. All you need is a trigger so that you can move your flash off camera. |
