Assstro maybe use the soft word like "compatible" to say that "other HDD might not work". My Intel told me that they tried with other WD 2.5" HDD model but the decoder does not recognise it, except that one particular model.

The WD My passport AV HDD has been the only HDD that has passed the requirements of having a low power consumption and several other criteria. They tested lots of HDD and many have a built in reboot function when left on longer then 24 hours, this of course would interrupt a record. Most are just too heavy on sucking the juice during power up.

I think then rather then just opening it up for any old HDD which could cause poor recording or even damage the decoder they have made a white paper and at the moment only the WD My Passport AV 320GB passes it.

Help help Help.... it would seem tht im the only one so far having this problem! After upgrading to Firmware 2.0s, my HD channels have sound going thru my AVR but when i switch to SD channels... NO SOUND! Previously, ie. yesterday, it was all fine!!! Arghhh!

can, but be aware that every time you insert the AV HDD, you will get a prompt to reformat the HDD.

Called Astro to subscribe to NORMAL Byond not Byond PVR, the Astro guy said need to pay RM300 to install.. betulkah?

I've bought the Samsung LCD tv and subscribe the byond promotion. Now I've been waiting for 2 weeks for Astro to call me up for the installation appointment. Then I call Astro callcentre and they informed me that no such order for my home installation.  Yikes... then I call the shop and they mentioned need to send to their HQ first and then to Samsung bla bla bla. Then I call Samsung careline and they informed me that dealer cans end the byond order directly to Astro. D@mn it. For those wanna see World Cup in HD, better apply byond yourself and followup with Astro.... not much time my fren to ding-dong with the electrical retailer shops. Save the RM240 on other cheaper models or just ask the shop to lower the Samsung price without the byond promo... i believe they can lower it by RM100 to RM150.

Can I program my box to record using my mobile phone or computer?

if we record some movies in portable WD that they offer...then we want to share the film with others....can this file sent or burnt and past to others and save back in others portable WD.then they play again in their own decorder...can or not?

can you record a program and watch another program in a different channell in the same time with astro plug "n" play?

Astro should have made a goodwill gesture eh, something like free recording service to those who activated Byond for the first 2 months, the pioneers. Afterall, we helped them launch the thing.
