1. I already have DBS which is a multicurrency account and again I only keep SGD0.10 inside my DBS.
2. I already have cimb sg.

Maybank does not have a multicurrency account, got minimum lockup, and lousy rates (if you want to send money back to Malaysia).

It's basically redundant. So no point I have Maybank sg.
*
3. My Maybank SG debit card kena hacked last May/June... Fraudsters transferred money out of it... Have to complaint to get back refund.

CIMB SG (no debit card), DBS and OCBC SG account + debit cards are working well, no sign of hacking attempts or frauds...

I use my bank cards very conservatively, only pay for food at hawker centers/uni canteents and public transports. No tie up with any ewallets, no Google Pay/Apple Pay etc. and I never let greed fail me by hunting for "cashbacks"...

Since then, I closed both my Maybank MY and Maybank SG accounts.

i have a CIMB SG debit card that is issued to me for free, not worth it. Its just for withdrawing cash, you can't pay/ link to ewallets with it.

If anyone still wants a CIMB SG debit card, sign up for CIMB StarSavers (Savings) instead of FastSavers
*
lol I guess that's only an ATM card? Not a debit card?

Same situation last time with my Hang Seng Bank account in HK, only got ATM card, not debit card... they purposedly wanna nudge people to owe money on credit card... haiz...

CIMB SG Fake 3.5% promo officially ended yesterday for those started in August 2023. Those with huge savings may now pull your funds out in search for better alternatives...

Those started in September 2023 still have one more month to go.

The last bonus interest is in yesterday for those started in August 2023.

About time to close my OCBC SG Frank Account, I checked with Frank Store at NTU, they told me the account will auto close in 6 months time if there is no activity.

Otherwise I need to go to the nearest OCBC branch to close it. Gonna visit Jurong Point again...

This marks the end of the "fake" 3.5% p.a. CIMB floating deposit promo...

Hello sifus,

I have both CIMB Malaysia account and OCBC SG account. CIMB Malaysia DuitNow registered with my Malaysia number and OCBC SG PayNow registered with my SG number.

Just to check, with the introduction of DuitNow Cross-border payment, I can remit up to 3000 MYR from my CIMB Malaysia account to my OCBC SG account right?

Anyone tried that before? I am not sure how to initiate a transfer from CIMB Clicks Online banking portal? Is it through the usual DuitNow pathway and just type in my SG phone number in the recipient column?

Has anyone tried using PayNow QR with OCBC SG to pay for goods in Malaysia? (i.e., pay for MYR goods using SGD money in OCBC SG directly)

If so, how's the exchange rate quoted by OCBC SG?

TOS 360 can get debit card, the others can't (you must register via app, not website). so "cannot get debit card" is indeed a yes and a nosunway money got issue logging in. will update u later

I received an email stating my debit card application is approved. Now just waiting for it to arrive via mail.

Oh you open OCBC SG 360 account directly from Malaysia? I remember our friend Mr. Gray says need to start with statement savings account (and open additional accounts like monthly savings or 360) then only close the statement saving account 6 months later.

Now can directly open SG 360 from Malaysia? Would help save the hassle of opening and closing multiple accounts then.

Yupe. After opened STS account, I then applied for 360. Approval is instantaneous.

Oh, so nothing change lah haha. I thought you open 360 right from the start laugh.gif

No big deal. Thanks for the clarification.

Indeed, that's the case with SG banks. Once you have an existing account with DBS, UOB or OCBC, you can open another one using the existing account as a "reference account" and get instant approval. That's how I open my DBS My Account as well, instant approval using my existing DBS Multiplier account as reference.

PseudomonasSA do you have Maybank MY account? you can send via Duitnow Overseas Transfer. have to do 2 transfers like Yluxion did as there's a RM3k daily limit. first you link your phone number to PayNow in OCBC app. can guarantee that it's also cheaper than Wise

user posted image user posted image

then you follow this step to transfer from MBB MY via DuitNow Overseas Transfer
*
Yo bro, can you help check if DuitNow Cross Border Transfer is available for CIMB MY? Been waiting for months already... they seem way slower than Maybank...

Thanks. smile.gif

Tried transferring from CIMB SG to CIMB MY a moment ago. Mid-market rate is 3.49, my 100 SGD becomes 348.37 MYR in CIMB MY (rate given 3.4837).

So that's about an 18 basis points spread.

Yup, CIMB SG -> MY fees as a % of mid-market rate is half of that of Wise (20 bp vs 40 bp).

Hello guys! Just wanted to ask anyone who opened an Ar-Rihla Savings account in Maybank Singapore, did you all manage to download eStatement? It's been more than 1 month since I opened the account, so I believe Maybank Singapore should have a savings statement out.

But instead, I didn't receive any eStatement, and when go to Settings, it says "Your account is not eligible for eStatement"  So I'm confused, does Ar-Rihla Savings account there's no eStatement services? confused.gif

I think all Maybank SG accounts don't have estatements. Last time I used Maybank iSavvy account also no estatement as well, have to use CIMB SG's statement for opening DBS account back then...
