probably permanent, they said they're trying to reconfigure 175's routing co China. they are still working on switching me back to 218 (that's what i was told last night), i hope the reason that 175 has good routing to China now isn't that they just switched the routing thing of 218 with 175, else i would be speechless when they finally put me on 218 sweat.gif

Yesterday Level 2 support claims Network Department will fix my premium ip issue by midnight. Seems not the case as this morning is still the same.

TM 100 level 1 support this morning claims system is down they can't even look up reports. But he tried to transfer my call which but couldn't as line is busy. So early 8.XXam level 2 already line busy.

they are not going to switch me back to 218 as i requested since they say my dslam isn't in the 218 ip range anymore sweat.gif . but oh well, at least they fixed the routing to China with 175.145.*, BT/emule with China peers are mostly slow (used to be fast) but I guess I will live with it for now and let them close the report.

218.111 nt premium ip to china anymore?
*
yes they reconfigured 175.145's routing to China last week.
as for 218.111, after they reconfigured 175.145's routing, I asked solarmystic to test and apparently routing to China on 218.111 is still good.

what u all did to streamyx make them change 175.145 routing?
lolx

my initial request was to change my primary ip range back to 218.111, but they said it's *impossible* to be done as 218.111 is not assigned to my dslam anymore. i had been calling them everday for one week, they kept telling me they're working on the issue on the 175.145 ip range, but the problem still wasn't solved after one week so I decided to file a complaint to MCMC, and one day later routing to china and general download speed (my city, yeah the whole city, was also having download speed problem during that one week) were fixed. I don't know did it have anything to do with the complaint, maybe they were already working hard on the issue, or maybe they started working on the issue after the complaint sweat.gif

Just installed the 4Mbps package yesterday. Blockbuster Deals.

SNR Margin (dB):Down/Up  29.5/16.8
Attenuation (dB):Down/Up  47.5/22.2

I am getting 175.145 ip.

Is that acceptable? As far as I know, the attenuation should not exceed 40dB and the SNR margin should at least be 30dB. Correct me if I'm wrong.
I'm in Langkawi, and about 2.37KM from the TM HQ.
So far so good, no disconnection whatsoever.

But now I'm capped @ 2Mbps. The installer said that TM need 48hrs to setup my 'port' for 4Mbps.
Is that true @ common? They said that currently my area only have 2Mbps users.

pretty high attenuation >.<

When you think about it.. 4 Megs actually gives you more downloads for your buck because its uncapped always..

Compared to 5 Meg 60 GB allowance.. it's pretty much an oxymoronic decision by TM to cap Unifi....

1TB+ compared to 60 GB monthly allowance?

The best choice is still 4 Megs Streamyx lol....

So I think that price difference/parity is justified...

agreed. if you surf a lot everyday, especially sites with heavy graphics, or watch lots of youtube, those already use up many GB's per month, + some downloads, 60GB is really not much.
