QUOTE(nicks @ Jul 10 2010, 12:16 AM) was considering M11X... is ix"UM" is good? i mean for light gaming such as NFS, the rest doing excel, autocad, office, surfing etc? Looking review of UM on the net but still not convince how good it isĀ You should see the 3 in comparison side by side in terms of specs.. http://ark.intel.com/Compare.aspx?ids=47700,47554,49021, and see this review of the M11x R2 http://www.anandtech.com/show/3808/alienware-m11x-r2BTW, this machine is meant for balanced performance, battery life and "portability"(2KG).. QUOTE(deathbringer @ Jul 12 2010, 12:24 AM) my own home wifi. i don't think it's setting problem. i run torrents almost 24hrs a day. desktop and laptop no problem with that. but when i do more hardcore stuff, like streaming online videos or streaming movies or transferring files from my desktop to laptop, it's smooth at first, but after a while, i lose the connection (even if windows still says i'm connected). that's when i get that exclamation mark icon on my wifi taskbar. will dell replace my wlan card if i tell them my problem?? Could be the modem issue of not the wlan card..

My bad for providing wrong information..
M11x R1 should get drivers from Dell as it uses the manual switching graphics
M11x R2 can start using the one directly from Nvidia IMO since they support Optimus notebooks.

Erm I think there's an update for the Alienware Command Centre Software which gives the M11x R2 about an extra 45 minutes of battery life..

Did u do a clean reinstall of the driver?
Here's how:
1. Uninstall via Add/Remove Programs 2. Boot up in safe mode, run Driver Sweeper for Nvidia Display Driver. 3. Boot up normally, and install the driver.

QUOTE(julchin_09 @ Aug 8 2010, 08:59 PM) The card is selling on ebay which is the easiet to transact and is pretty straight forward. Normally its around USD$350 to 400 on average last I checked in July.... Your thoughts on this i5 proc Doc. Better than the i7 I'm guessing.....is the new 940XM still octa-cores? I read somewhere about a Hexa-core.... Seems that its better than a Octa-core.... The thing is that my 12" notebook had 1 dead pixel. I managed to argue with the Dell Services that it still warrants a change.... But the way you seek to push your point thru and means you try is pretty subjective. You can try to talk to higher management. Maybe thats why I'm in the field Law..... Respect you 1 dead pixel oso can push for it !~
