Hi, newbie here.

I brought and shipped a Wacom Intuos tablet which cost RM990+ at ebay from Hong Kong to Malaysia.

The tracking of the item says it has arrived in Malaysia on 22nd of Jan 2011 and " Pending custom inspection"

Since then there is no progress till now....

is it stuck with the customs?

do I need to apply for SIRIM import permit?

Any update on your item? Have you receive it?

Btw there are few types of Wacam Intuos. Some of it have bluetooth feature which are definitely required SIRIM.

dam, i never knew that importing/buying for self use of LCD tv will get a wayyy to high taxes, yesterday i went to JB to pickup the TV, got charged for RM800 T.T

Mr. Faliq. I got a quick question here.

Let say I'm going to buy a 2-din multimedia in-dash receiver (cd player for car) with build in Garmin GPS and bluetooth, personal use. The item will be shipped to the forwarding company (ie. Borderlinx) located in the US and they will pay the tax and duties upfront on behalf of me before shipping the item back to Malaysia using DHL. What are the things do i need to do? AP application is for sure. Can i apply for the AP before the item is shipped to Malaysia? What are the documents needed for AP application? Thanks in advance.

Yes it's required AP for sure. Yes you can apply the AP before the item ship.

Documents:
- application form
- technical specification / data sheet / product brochure
- shipment invoice
- copy of IC for personal application/ copy of ROC/ROB for company application
- personal detail (name, address, contact etc)

You might need to have the permission first from Kementerian Kesihatan Malaysia. I bought lotion from oversea to my gf and got warning.
