Hello people. I need your help here.

I'm planning to purchase a laptop costing around rm4k from eBay /amazon us

So this is the question.

Do I need to pay additional cost of the laptop eg import duty or sirim approval?

Thanks in advance

hello guys,

I would like your advice on a product that I want to Import in. Its a china tablet "Teclast x98 air 2" with WiFi n Bluetooth but without call facilities. Will it be taxed and do I require a sirim clearance for that?

If I will be taxed, how many percent of the actual product?
and how much for sirim permit and can I apply for it online?

Sorry its abit of a mouth full, coz I just need information.

Thank you for your time smile.gif
hope to hear from you all soon.

Hi guys,

I am trading one of my collectibles for a laptop from the states. Would i require sirim approval for this? Also if i declare this as a repaired item, would i be asked to produce documents to customs? Thanks

I bought GPU and PSU, total over RM500.

Amazon says they will take care of any duty charges, importing fees or taxes (GST). So about that I'm not worried.

But, now somebody say need to apply for SIRIM.

Is this true? So for me, I must pay RM200 for the SIRIM certs?

Thanks!
