is it worth its price tag at rm2199?

newer, cooler CPU, better integrated graphic, 13", at roughly the same price... nod.gif

thinking CQ41-206TU or dell M301z

why i3 better le? sorry newbie
*
Intel's Core architecture has always been better than AMD's K8 and K10... clock for clock and core for core, AMD sure cannot match them...

but AMD compensate that with cost and complete platform... their CPU have always been cheaper, but still with sufficient performance, and their integrated graphic is way ahead of Intel GMA... at the very least, Mobility Radeon can provide hardware acceleration for Flash 10.1, but not GMA...

QUOTE(maolnorlexu @ May 27 2010, 11:39 AM)
recommended me one plz  brows.gif

1. Any
2. RM5K
3. Spec for multitasking job, rendering (video and graphic), decent gaming

QUOTE(breaker84 @ May 27 2010, 04:43 PM)
ok, this laptop will be the primary usage one..
i mean there is no PC,

usage i think moderate use....
no heavy game....

mostly internet and word processing....

my budget is RM2000, but if can get less is better....

at least 2GB RAM, with 250GB HDD, ....

my problem is i don't know anything about the processing for laptop...
*
Acer 4551, Athlon II P320 + ATi HD4250, FreeDOS@RM1499

upgrade to 2GB RAM, add Win7, an u re good to go... nod.gif

with that, i guess it's time that i update my own 14" recommendation list...

Hello smile.gif

Budget: about or less than RM2500, if cheaper would be better
Usage: Uni, general multitasking, net-surfing, download and photoshop

Need a few recommendations to consider.

Thanks in advance!

considering migrating from desktop to notebook.

1. Brand : Any brand, as long as it have a good customer service, warranty issue

2. Budget : currently rm2k max, but if needed, can fund rm500 more biggrin.gif

3. Specs : u suggest, i will use this notebook to run adobe photoshop, some video editing and surfing internet.

4. Size : 14'': if my budget can get me a 15'' do suggest too!

5. Capabilities : thinking to extend to LCD monitor which support 1920x1080 reso, if my budget permit me to have this reso on external monitor, pls do suggest me..

in my consideration right now :

- Compaq CQ42
- Asus K40Ab
- Dell Vostro 3400
- Asus A42F i3

most from the list exceeded rm2k, so i need recommendation to get below 2k, if possible.
tq!

QUOTE(wavelike @ May 30 2010, 08:09 PM)
I'm a student going to Australia to study.
I'm looking for a laptop upgrade before I go:

1. Brand.
No preference; As long as it has international warranty; 2 years or more.

2. Budget.
Below RM3000.

3. Specs.
- Core : Core i3, Core i5 (Preferably something that I can use for the next 3 years)
- Hard disc : 320GB Hard disc or larger
- RAM : 4GB DDR2 RAM (Upgradable to 8GB in the next 2-3years?)
- Graphics : Do not need a dedicated graphics card
- VGA/HDMI Output
- Preferably good set of speakers
- Ext Headphone/Mic 3.5mm Jacks
- 4 USB Ports
- DVD-RW Drive/Blu-Ray?
- Bluetooth
- WLAN
- Memory Card Reader
- Webcam

4. Size.
- Screen : 14.1" or larger
Usage
Main: For surfing, programming, MS Office, downloading, watching movies
Occasional: Gaming, Image Editing
I am currently having a CQ40.
Had to wait three weeks to get my AC Adaptor replaced due to malfunction.
Laptop battery died within a year.
And now, it's core temperatures are averaging at 78 degrees!  unsure.gif

ve u thought of buying the laptop at Aus instead???

prices are generally cheaper, and more choices as well...

oh yes.. it actually similar with i7 620M... but i7 620M has Turbo Boost technology and HTT too

T9550 is also great choice too thumbup.gif
*
620M has a slight edge due to integrated memory controller...

using T9550 myself... great CPU to have... can handle my gaming needs, most of them anyway... tongue.gif

QUOTE(V-sign @ Jun 1 2010, 08:17 AM)
wondering to choose Asus a42jk or a52jk...any sugestion?
*
it's juz a matter of size...

i ve to admit, 15" is real tempting if not for the weight...

QUOTE(kennlpw @ Jun 1 2010, 09:38 AM)
hey guys, can u recommend me some laptops for general use: internet surfing, watch movie, facebook game, word processing and if possible light gaming (like sims 2)

*
