For that budget, its around Dell Vostro 3700, 17.3'', i5 430M + Nvidia GT330M, 1600x900, anti-glare screen@RM2849 Dell Studio XPS 16, 15.6'', P8700 + ATi HD4670, FullHD@RM2849 with coupon Lenovo Y460, 14'', i5 430M + ATi HD5650@RM3299 Those three offer better performance than Asus in the price range...

Quite decent price. Want to consider Dell Studio XPS 16? P8700 + ATi HD4670, FullHD@RM2849 with coupon. Dell Vostro 3700 only online, usually around 1-2 weeks, unless no part, then might extend to 3 weeks...

QUOTE(imahappyklown @ Jun 14 2010, 07:09 PM) JK.Out of luck finding the JR. Erm,the DELL sxps is tempting, but the proc in it is old right? I'm trying to find a desktop replacement if possible, able to withstand long operating hours and not likely to overheat, and able to survive a good 3,4 years. Any thoughts on the lenovo G450 or some BenQ(S something, cant recall).Decent specs, with an awesome price to boot (just around rm2K if im not mistaken).Or are these just too old. You can't really find anything with better spec especially the GPU and FullHD for that price, RM2849..

For office work, M301z would do fine, better spend the extra rm200 for warranty... unless you need dvd drive.. and note M301z no vga port...

Pretty much netbook fits your requirement, else can consider CULV notebook, like Acer 1830TZ, 11.6'', U5400, GMA HD@RM1899 or Inspiron 11z...

The inspiron still offer colour option, you need to choose higher price model or non-fastrack model though...
Other brand mostly don't offer customization.

Just avoid the one using Nvidia 8400M/8600M or compaq v3000 series should do fine... Don't recall any heating problem with the latest notebook This post has been edited by lee_what2004: Jun 15 2010, 11:43 PM

Toshiba Satellite L510-B402 would be better for gaming... Though for similar price, can consider Dell Inspiron 13R, i3 350M + ATi HD5470, HomeBasic@RM2299, but no dvd drive... or Inspiron 14R, same spec but 14''@RM2399...

Performance wise and warranty would go to Asus UL30Vt since it got built-in overclock CPU to 1.73GHz and also default comes with 2 years warranty....
