i have solve the drum brake noise at Puchong SC... ahahhahah...

they just flatten the uneven part in the drum, that part will make the brake shoe "sangkut"... so scared if u see how they solved it.. only used hammer to flattened it...  just take about 10 minutes for both side.. now, no more noise...

Yup.. i'm serious.. i just tell them got weird sound when braking, and they tell me most persona with rear drum brake facing this kind of problem.. and they fix it.. 

So bad luck , almost got my car but found out there is a palm length dent near the back door ...
a deep scratch at the back bumper .... 
ask the SA to fix it , I just started the car , haven't even move the car an inch ... what a luck ...

how come nowadays new car from warehouse easily got dent? they simply drive buta-buta ke? quite a disappointment

well actually my last service was 11500.. if you refer to the service manual it also indicate that the next service interval is every 10k... even in my service receipt proton indicate the next service should be when it reach 21500.

by the way, is it compulsory to service at proton for 20k onwards? will void the warranty if we service outside?

Dude.  Do that at your peril.  After all, it is your car.  But don't expect others to follow your advice.  I'm using a reputable Semi 10W 40 & when my ride is nearing the end of the 5K Km cycle, the oil is black as hell & I can feel a significant difference compared to when the oil is new.  If you are using Fully Syn, by all means, 10K Km cycle is OK.  I feel the service booklet is grossly wrong in the oil change intervals (Should be for fully syn)

If you read the user's manual, Proton recommends 20W 50 (which should be mineral) Try this & your FC will shoot up & it is like riding a buffalo up hill.

Hello, anyone notice/has feeling the persona elegance headlights isn't bright and the angle is low?

more review of my new changed brake pad.

today i could feel i'm more comfortable and confident driving back home in the jam + raining. IF with the stock brake pad i 'll keep on worry when the car will it stop after i hit the brake. Now no more worry.

after market brake really does make a difference. no regret

PE b line auto, I just changed stock brake pad to Bendix Metal King Titanium brake pad, RM125 from kaitospeed + RM20 labour. The effect is good, solve 90% of ngek ngek sound, and i able to do sudden stop(previously unable to do sudden stop with stock pad) but i still think the brake isn't up to the standard yet, however compare to stock brake pad it improve a lot and i can drive more confident. Mayb due to the brake pump/servo isn;t good enuff(as i heard, PE b line use gen2 1.3 pump/servo)

think of change brake hose in future

what pad u using. i changed to ceramic nao, been making noise since day 1 after change. then went back to mechanic ask to check. said was the brake pad then asked to cut the sides a bit making it less edgy. after that was good, no sound for a while but now the sound is back. feel like changing to other brake pads

Why can't everyone who visits this thread & complains about a Proton accepts the fact that it is a car that is not meant to last. I mean all Proton cars. If the Proton part suppliers or vendors manufactures parts that last forever, that is suicide for them.  Same for Proton. From a businessman's point of view, everything is calculated. Even Proton does not want their customers to use their product forever.  For the price you are paying, don't expect much.  After all, good quality Proton alternative replacement parts are easily available & affordable. 

Try owning a new Mazda, Toyota, Honda, Suzuki, Peugeot, Hyundai,Naza, Kia etc. of about the same class, if you don't earn 5K nett/mth. & above don't dream!  At least in Proton, a person who say, makes about 3Knett/mth. (assuming HOUSE mortgage=1K, CAR & PETROL=1K) he or she can still survive owning a new car. For what it is worth, the Persona is not bad.  My anniversary is up in a month's time & a neighbour recently ask me about the performance of my car.  My Reply? No regrets. Highly recommended.  That's my honest opinion. I can't hear that from some of you guys. That's unfortunate for those with bad experiences.

i noticed a lot ppl mentioned that the stock brakes is bad and not safe...is it really that bad that the stock brakes will put u at risk of accidents (both minor or fatal)???

well , this is normal as the breakpad is still new .. last year my family got the exora which also has this problem ... after ignoring it for sometime
now no more sound 

Ordered a Bronze Garnet at first.. Then on the way home saw the exact same car and color but felt it wasnt that nice.. So settled for black instead..
Now first thing is to lower the springs so that the car butt is not so high.. 
Btw I dont like persona's soft brake.. It doesnt give me confidence to drive fast.. I test drove my frens persona before and it was spongy like.. I wud prefer something that wud give me a more progressive 'feel' like the honda city or nissan sentra brakes..

Yeah read bout the ceramic brakes and some forumers complaining bout the screeching sound from the brakepads... Just i mostly just jump a few pages to read here and there only..    I was more interested in looking for pics of any forumers modding their persona.
