QUOTE(lwliam @ Jun 14 2010, 12:30 AM) 90mm and 50mm are 2 different lenses with different range. cant really compare coz usage also different. Hmm okay ... I forgot that there is the DOF differences between these 2 lenses, but just for more walk around and able to shooting mid-close up macro, 50mm F2.8 as I tried before seems great! :/ As for Tamron 90mm, I know most of the Macro Lens were slow AF but does it able to perform well on fashion shooting at mid-long range when focus limit is on? @Mikeshashimi Well I brought it around RM600 it is a good walk around lens with satisfied sharpness, just very strong blue CA at tele end

QUOTE(Mikeshashimi @ Jun 14 2010, 07:05 PM) this is what im worried about.. i can take soft focus but probably not so much for blue/purple cast.. For long focal range, it is fine around 135mm to 150mm but at 200mm Blue cast of CA is quite obvious on black edge This post has been edited by wingster: Jun 14 2010, 07:18 PM

QUOTE(cjlai @ Jun 14 2010, 09:17 PM) KM 1735 sharp @ wide open.... but 1750 not sharp @ 2.8.... 16105 just a normal lens fr sony... just like ur kit lens quality... nothing special other than the range... IQ & color still the same.... tat's all fr my personal opinion... pls correct me if i'm wrong.... i think the price ranging fr 1.3-1.5k depends on completeness & condition not too hard to find if u really wan it... Just only F2.8 at wide open >.< .... I more like it if its at tele-end(I know that will cost more like the 16-35CZ) although this lens offer for you to keep it for future FF upgrade as well and yeah cjlai wanna ask that does SP90mm perform well on portrait when shooting it in focus limit mode? Really need a budget AF lens for long range portrait at F2.8 before I can geet my Siggy 50-150mm xD This post has been edited by wingster: Jun 14 2010, 09:23 PM

QUOTE(Mikeshashimi @ Jun 14 2010, 09:22 PM) 1.3-1.5k ? ugh... ahahhah... quite ok actually but the range abit short... how bout 3rd party superteles like Tammy 18-200 or sigma 28-200 or similar lenses, are they good? Travel lens is good for all rounder when doesn't want to bring so many lenses, it gives you short to long focal length at cost of sacrificing some IQ and also gives more softness and CA and distortion. As for the Tammy 28-200 F3.8~F5.6 ... well I have use it for some times when travelling outdoor but I also found useful for shooting flower but still the IQ doesn't surpass the short focal length like Tammy 17-50 and Sony 18-55 and the 16-105 IQ

QUOTE(cjlai @ Jun 14 2010, 10:02 PM) i'm using uniross hybrio 2100mah... on my f56 no prob... even keep for few mths still can take many shots to me is simple... paying for f2.8 lens i expect it to perform @ f2.8.... i dun think the focus limiter will help on the af speed ... macro lens is still a macro lens..... if u really wan a long range f2.8 lens i can help u to source for the used one Hmm so you mean 90mm F2.8 doesn't suitable for portrait alternatives :/ ? I dun mind for slow AF(not to be too hell slow lar X_X) as long as it can perform good for portrait at F2.8 xD This post has been edited by wingster: Jun 14 2010, 10:13 PM

QUOTE(zstan @ Jun 15 2010, 10:17 AM) how budget is budget? around RM500~RM600 ... is better that you having a long lasting tripod than break a few couple of RM1xx tripod rite? Saw the review about this tripod and seems pretty good and reliable ... xD This post has been edited by wingster: Jun 15 2010, 10:23 AM

QUOTE(zstan @ Jun 15 2010, 10:28 AM) wa....... okok will consider it...rm600... Well I think RM600 for many people is too much xD (No offense yeah >.<), if you're not so serious about tripod I think Benro may be enough (I'm not tested it so I'm not so sure about their quality) That (Giottos one) tripod adds on with more macro angle adjustment material wise is more tough and durable plus the price is estimated together with the ballhead.
