Added on June 15, 2010, 9:48 am remember take paddy field pictures. have they ripen yet? or still green? QUOTE(Gouki @ Jun 15 2010, 09:57 AM) I miss air itam asam laksaQUOTE(boyzone @ Jun 15 2010, 10:02 AM) All sifus, Congrats. TTL means through the lens, meaning the camera will take the metering from what light that comes through the lens. So it the flash will fire twice, 1st blast will be used as a gauge to let the camera meter the light needed to add or minus, 2nd blast will be the correct exposure. Its the next best thing u have in your flash apart from the flash lamp itself.I just reward myself with F58AM flash and Tammy SP90 macro lens. Pls educate me with: - How to use flash with correct setting? What is TTL ? Zoom etc ? - Observed my macro lens is in slow focus when at 1:1, unable to point to correct target. This is because of related with body setting? Pls help.. Thanks The zoom function is so that the light coming out from the flash is thrown in a tighter or wider spread. The tighter the flash beam, the brighter, hence further the light transverse. Eg. 24mm flash zoom, wider spread of light, 105mm tighter. Macro lenses are like that, its so that its easier to micro adjust the focal plane to the one u want, thus a smaller gear ratio. So it is VERY recommended to use manual focus when at 1:1 magnification. This post has been edited by lwliam: Jun 15 2010, 11:01 AM |

for macro, it is also recommended that u use off-camera flash. Diffuse the pop up flash if possible.
For now, u can ignore the zoom function on the flash, till u mastered how your flash effects an image, then will it be time for u to learn about the zoom function. On auto, it should work fine 90% of the time. Ginolo, i dont think he meant auto focus in this context. Added on June 15, 2010, 12:52 pmfor the mean time, experiment with your flash. Try different setups to get one that you think suits your shooting. On camera, off camera, bounce, reflected, diffused, gel (another syllabus on its own), direct.. Give them a try, u can find many articles on it if u google. This post has been edited by lwliam: Jun 15 2010, 12:52 PM |

fans, there's no such thing as good or bad. Its what u need or dont need. Is 200mm enough for u? Or the 300mm extra reach? Will u use full frame?
Cjlai, can u find me one of those? |

u have to give something to make the ant be in perspective, only we can measure how 'big' the ant is...

what i mean is include the object for reference sake inside the photo WHEN capturing the photo... its like capturing a pyramid alone compared to someone standing beside the pyramid to be taken pic of... then only u will know exactly HOW big the pyramid is.. its to show perspective...
for example: » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Added on June 15, 2010, 10:11 pmthe ant pic can be done the same way, take a leaf as comparison perhaps? or a coin, or something that ppl would easily get a mental image of when seen. a badly pp-ed flare will look horrible. you have to take account where the light source is coming from, the angle it strikes the lens front element and from what source.

this would fall into my list of badly pp-ed glare/flare/what-not. with a light that strong, the shadows falling on the subject is still normal? the eyes are still open that big?
the main light source is clearly coming from the rear of the subject... how would the flare/glare/what-not be on the front of the subject? |

using a small aperture will create effect as though there is a star filter..
Tilt shift lenses are available only on canon and nikon mount of their own system. Sony doesnt have one. Added on June 16, 2010, 9:37 amAchew, love the colors. Very industrial. This post has been edited by lwliam: Jun 16 2010, 09:37 AM |

yes, lensbaby does have its merits in certain wedding shots. The OOF areas are really good, and you dont have to PS to get the effect. Makes me think of getting one too if its sub-RM500
