hi everyone~ I would like to ask about the MUET requirement for foundation in law students 2010/11 is band 3 or 4? I'm wondering because in my offer letter it stated band 3, but some of my coursemates said that law students must achieve at least band 4, is it true?

thanks in advance. =)

Yup it is true. In MMU, it is standardized for everyone no matter which faculty you are from.
For most of the public universities, you need Band 4 in MUET to apply for LAW degree.

Law is band 4. Others all band 3.
U need to meet the requirement to graduate.
Band 1 is to move on to degree only. But still need band 3 or band 4 (based on course) to graduate.

1) Kindly take note that students who enrolled into Degree (Beta) Level starting from June 2009/2010 are required to achieve the minimum of MUET Band 3 as an entry requirement.

To avoid any inconvenience, students who failed to achieve Band 3 are advised to register for Mid 2011 MUET Examination immediately, which is now opened. The MUET Registration Form can be obtained from Finance Division on first come first serve or otherwise you are required to register online (please refer to Majlis Peperiksaan Malaysia website).

http://www.mpm.edu.my/

Please be informed that students who failed to meet the entry requirement, the candidature status will be decided in February 2011 Senate Meeting.

2) Students who enrolled into Degree Level before June 2009/2010 are required to achieve the minimum of MUET Band 1 as a graduation requirement.

Thank you & kind regards

umm.. I want to ask any MMU students who used to experience the same thing.

The registration day is on 26th, and the following 2 days are orientation days on 27th and 28th Jan.
I just called MMU up that he answered me, MMU will prepare room for us to stay during the orientation period. I have no activities after 27th and 28th which means we have to leave the room and back to Perak when the orientation is done. The class willl only commence on 7th Feb, 2011.
But, I've problem with this, as I stay in Perak, I assume it's quite far from MMU Cyberjaya.
I've no relatives and friends there in Selangor to fetch me or anything...
So, anyone can tell me how to leave MMU to bus station or anywhere where taxi is available?
I'm not familiar with the places in Selangor at all.
But, I still have to back to hometown after the orientation, right? I've nowhere to stay in Cyberjaya as well.
I can only move in to the MMU's hostel/apartment in Feb...?
(ugh, I dont know, but I just think that even if I successfully make it to the bus station, I may not be able to get a bus ticket to get a ride back to Perak, since Chinese New Year is around the corner by the time, the bus tickets could have been sold all.)

Added on January 10, 2011, 2:06 pmIf I try to skip the orientation, I will get the chance to follow my Dad back to Perak, 'cause he's the one who'll send me all the way to MMU Cyberjaya on the Registration day. The Registration time is 9.00am-12pm, so I think my Dad can wait for me.

But, again, skipping the orientation would have a big problem after that. I'm sure that I'll be 'so lost' when the class starts, not knowing the place where I have class...bla bla bla...

FAint...

1) you will have to stay in hostel during the orientation..
2) why not ask them whether the room is permanent(for your 1st year) for u(if you are staying in hostel after you finish you orientation)
3)you can skip and ask you friends but you will miss out a lot of important facts such as PTPTN, libraries, exams and so on...
4) you can go back to perak by public transport...
from MMU cyberjaya take u429 to putrajaya sentral
from putrajaya sentral, option as below :
1) take ERL to kl sentral(if taking ktm train)
2)take erl to bandar tasik selatan, the bus stop is at bandar tasik selatan(just open 1 month ago), i mnot sure whether theres bus going to perak from there...
3)take erl to bandar tasik selatan, then take rapid kl to bukit jalil...the main hub of bus is opposite the lrt stop smile.gif

so make your own choice..

Yah, I dont wanna miss any of those important information too, I just feel like I've to try my best to know everything, 'cause I've no people there and Selangor is a total new place for me.I've to solve my problem all alone too.

How nice if the class starts right away after the orientation, everything will be much simplier.

Your reply has been so useful! Thanks again.

Gh-x,

I think the letter is coming...
Relax, I understand your feeling while waiting for the letter, especially when the time gets closer.
Hopefully, we could enroll into the foundation program safely and spend some fulfilling years there and graduate.

By the way, we can me be closer friends if we do the same foundation(in managament).
