Green light is GPRS signal, sure slow lah! Try use "WCDMA Only" mode, see if you catch any 3G signal (or force it to stay on 3G signal). The speedtest you show is pretty ok (mine also like that), but you should be able to get 3.2Mbps with that basic modem if you are in city

Everything was fine until the super heavy rain near the end of year 2010. I was playing my online games fine, signal nice everything good. After the rain, everything gone.
QUOTE We have investigated your concern and confirm that the site serving Jalan Batu Kawa area is currently operating marginally in terms of coverage and performance. Our record shows that the coverage is indeed weak at this area which means you will not be getting a consistent speed every time the internet is connected. Please let us assure you that it has always been our priority to take steps to continuously improve coverage and network quality in as many areas as possible. Hence, we are working towards further upgrading the network and the tentative time for completion is by end of 1st quarter 2011 to achieve such desirable end results. Oh, upgrade? No I don't believe it. Will it be so damn coincidence they start their upgrade schedule right after the stupid rain? (it was night). 1st quater 2011 is a damn joke, so what am I gonna do for these 3 months? Nvm maybe I just go sign Celcom. I've been picking up Celcom 3G signal in my area almost all the time when I scan for network. Hmm right, I got a friend working in Celcom, I might just ask him come over to check for signal, then if everything fine I just jump ship. |

The fact is, it's fine in city; just down in my area for a week! I complaint to SKMM as well yesterday night, I can only hope they fix this problem faster.

Mostly modem is locked, mine too. I just wonder where to get the unlock code... Maxis center?!
As for me... QUOTE Our investigation indicates that the location mentioned is experiencing good coverage for 2G while the 3G site serving is having a performance issue. However, we are in the midst of rectifying the issue and this is expected to complete tentatively by third week of February 2011. zzz... zzz... zzz... zzz... zzz... zzz... zzz... |

Uncapped speed means you're able to utilize full 3G speed according to your modem types (not unlimited data download). The basic modem provided for free only hit 3.2Mbps, to get full 7.2Mbps you need to buy a different one.
As for your low speed issue maybe due to coverage/signal problem? I recently also upgraded to RM68 package but speed still fine as always... |

Just why the heck 3G broadband provider just so kiam-siap (selfish or whatever) to gives so low quota? The speed after throttle is really not much usable, pretty much under 20kByte/s only. If the net is still consistent and smooth after get throttle that's fine, but the reality is NOT.
I heard Maxis did provide no-quota package long ago but why not now? Are those user that subscribe to that package still active or all got terminated? |

Anyone experience modem overheat problem? I got E1762 recently but it keep cutting off after using a while. By cutting off I mean the LED still lit, connection still on HSDPA, but no data running anymore. I have no problem using E1552 instead. But I'll need E1762 for it's antenna port later.
Overheat problem? |
