Guys... anyone here using Phottix BP-D60 for D3000?
Planning to get 1, cuz my last finger cant grip the camera. (hands too big) lol...

Another thing i discover is... the viewfinder is constantly draining the battery!
*
viewfinder will drain battery? rclxub.gif
Or you mean the LCD when you setting up the shutter etc it drains battery?

must try learn use manual WB, dunno is jz D5000 or Nikon, tends to be warm in WB 1
unless u shoot in RAW then auto all d way, after dat fix in photoshop  tongue.gif

PG still cheaper than most lenses mah~  whistling.gif
*
Not only d5000, d40, d90, most nikons (not sure about the FF series) tend to be warm in WB. In case I'm not sure which WB to use, I'll just shoot in RAW~

but if d40 use any good lense, then d photo quality is better than d60 ah?
sorry..rely noob here... sad.gif
but,i kinda intrested to buy used SLR...
*
if d40 and d60, both using the same lens, same PHOTOGRAPHER, same technique, d60 will have slightly better pic (more MP).

mmmmm
Dz GUY selling used d60 RM 1.2k..is it reasonable bro?
shutter count around 15k ed..mmm
*
I would say okay for RM1.2k... Normally low shutter count would be around rm1.4~1.5k.
Oh yea one more good thing about d60, its lens has VR.

Before u pay make sure the outer look of the camera is good, no serious scratches or dent (might have dropped before), no fungus/serious dust inside the lens etc... and make sure it's nikon malaysia warranty (look at warranty card). if grey set there's no nikon malaysia and not worth the price.

@nic
If he's buying d40/d60 kit, then d60 better because the lens is VR lens ^^

@Zelleonheart

But the D40 is 55-200mm VR woh
*
u mean someone offer him D40 with 55-200mm is it? if ONLY 55-200mm dont buy cuz you wont be shooting daily with a tele lens, need to buy kit lens yourself, more mafan.

straight away get 18-55mm and learn better.

For your information, to achieve the CUN-ness, you need...
RM2460 for D90 body
RM7000+- (not sure exact cost) for the lens (70-200 VR II f2.8)
RM1600+- for SB900 flash

d60 is a little bit slower than d3000 , like processing the image after snap shoot .
and the lcd is slower too .

used my friend d60 before.
*
Yea quite slow, dunno is memory card prob or not, after shooting need 1~2 sec only can view the photo, but in my D40 and D90 no such issue. But that's my fren's d60 im not sure about that.

@Zelleonheart...warranty for the D60 Nil already still can meh?
*
not becuz of warranty, bcuz grey set is very cheap when u buy it new, not worth paying for a 2nd hand grey set... and grey set 2nd hand value not good, QC also not clear.

@ nic . the laptop is the best bang for buck currently under 3k .

i5 + gt335 .  better than dell xps studio 16 with hd4670 .

gt335 is comparable to hd5650.
*
How much you bought your asus? Looks cool to me and I think the performance will be better than Acer 5741.

Hi guys, Im getting a D40 soon 2nd hand. Comes with the 18-55 kit lens. Im looking to get myself another lens and have the following choices of lenses:

AF-S DX NIKKOR 35mm f/1.8G

AF-S DX VR Zoom-Nikkor 55-200mm f/4-5.6G IF-ED

I also plan to get the speedlight sb-400 (small i know). My knowledge as a noob in photography says that the 35mm has good night shots capabilities and a ver fast focusing lens?

My question is that which lens should i pour my hard earned cash into.
*
Get only the D40 + kit lens, and maybe a SB600 or Di622 flash. Don't get any extra lens before you really know what you need. You might think you need a 55-200mm or so but in the end do you really use/need it? Play with kit lens for few months and sooner or later you'll realise what you need. I hope you don't realise you need a fast lens because the poison is too strong to endure XD

@ongdandy
most of your photos (pudu jail series) have overblown sky, totally can't see the sky. Hmm and pic #4 is not good, despite the motion blur on the people, they are also distracting and can't make your photo appears to be more attractive and... need more improvement in framing and WB.

no hard feelings and yea, red is too saturated.

tq all
erkhhh
im beginner in this new hobby
someone offer me used 1 month d3000 (rm 1.4k)
used canon eos 1000d ,used sround 1.5years (rm1.2k)
should i go to nikon?
*
Definitely D3000. 1000D to me is like the most most entry level dslr and the build quality is very plasticky, not to mention the weird toy shutter sound... And we're nikonians here, surely will recommend you to join us as we like nikon's build quality, IQ, body, lenses and the COLOR!

1.2k for 1.5 year-old 1000D is a bit over for me, I would get D3000 anytime. New D3000 around 1.7k
