Dell U2311H looks so tempting... but I just realised it doesn't have HDMI, only DisplayPort

Yeah... but if I wanted to connect DVI (my PC) and HDMI (PS3)... I'd have to constantly switch the cable... can't put both sources at the same time. Right?

I was so close to getting the U2311H until I heard about all these problems that have been popping up.

Any other monitor worth mentioning?

What are you guys thoughts on 23" IPS vs 24" LED TN? If both are the same price... which one would you pick? Is the viewing angle really that important?

Come to think of it... since I'm going with a dual monitor setup... I think IPS might be useful because when you put two 24" TNs next to each other, you'll definitely suffer from the horizontal viewing angle limitations.

Not sure if I'm ready to make the jump to 16:9... I've been using 16:10 (1680x1050) so far and I've been lovin' it

What do you mean by 8-10 hours will create burn in? As in a "permanent" image on the screen? I thought that only happens to CRT monitors?

lol no la... I've been saving for a new monitor since LED monitors came out... so now can afford to buy 1 3/4 monitors... just need to save a bit more

One thing that really puzzles me is... why don't the manufacturers go through proper QC in the factory itself before shipping out a defective monitor?

Actually it's kinda scary that they sent you a refurbished 2409WFP. Imagine if you didn't open the box on the spot to check (which most people won't do) and reject. Well, good to know you finally got the "bright-pixel free" monitor and you're satisfied with it.

I just made my order for the U2311H. Wish me luck! Hopefully it arrives soon

The U2311H comes with "overdrive" technology that helps with the response times, although in paper it'll still be slower than a TN panel.

Frankly, 8ms is fine unless you're an extreme hardcore gamer that plays really fast games like Quake Live. Even then I'm not sure if they'll notice any ghosting. From what I've read, as long as 6ms and below any normal human would not be able to tell the difference anymore. Also, if you're not happy with your monitor, you can return it to Dell and get a refund within the 14-day period.

Also, I've used a 25ms monitor before. You rarely see ghosting effect in games. The only time you actually see ghosting is when something scrolls by the screen (i.e. you scroll really slowly on your monitor, or like the CNN news ticker at the bottom of the screen that scrolls left to right).
