Suit Over Faulty Computers Highlights Dell’s Decline
Hopefully the suit won't effect the discounts much however it turns out.

You mean jerky, skipping frames or laggy?
Your spec should be able to handle 720p videos reasonably. My old Athlon X2 3800+ dual core can play 720p videos fine. The difference between HDMI and DVI is that HDMI may carry audio. The video is the same. Perhaps there is a background application or a virus that is hurting your computer's ability to perform? This post has been edited by everling: Jul 1 2010, 03:09 PM |

QUOTE(Top-Gun @ Jul 2 2010, 09:15 PM) I dislike the new stands. The older Y-shaped stands were a lot more nicer looking.QUOTE(rosihan @ Jul 3 2010, 10:05 PM) Depends on why you're buying it. If you just want Full HD resolution, the P2770H is expensive. If you want larger pixels (larger fonts, more readable) than the P2770H is good, because it's a 1080p in a 27". If you want the highest screen resolution, then you'll want to buy Dell's 27" Ultrasharp as that is a 2560x1440 screen, but it's RM 2.9K.This post has been edited by everling: Jul 4 2010, 08:35 AM |

For gaming, lower the screen resolution then. Scaling up 1080p videos isn't a real issue. And short of getting a 30", Dell's 27" would be great for work if you need the screen real estate.

The blurriness might be due to a low resolution source material, like playing a DVD on a 1080p. The DVD's resolution is pretty low, so it may look blurry on a 1080p.

QUOTE(excel_saga @ Jul 21 2010, 12:02 PM) Go through the product customisation and reach the billing. In there, there should be the option to paste your coupon code in the "Coupon Entry".Please note that the coupon code may discriminate between the "Business" and "Home" sections. If it doesn't work for when you buy through the "Home", try the "Business" section. QUOTE(ConquerorX @ Jul 21 2010, 12:09 PM) Errr, may I know what exactly the difference between Dell U2311H and U2410 other than the viewing angle and also U2410 has HDMI but U2311H does not? For details, you can hit Dell's product specification pages for the two. But shouldn't the viewing angle of the U2311H and the U2410 be similar?Anyway, the U2410 has a lot of connectors, including Display Port and composite video. The other big difference is that the U2410 has an aspect ratio of 16:10, due to its 1920x1200 screen resolution vs the U2311H's 16:9 with 1920x1080 screen resolution. At least those are the two biggest differences I think of. |

QUOTE(dauf87 @ Jul 21 2010, 01:30 PM) U2410 is using H-IPS panel vs U2311H is using e-IPS panel.. Thanks for the info. Comparing both type of IPS panel. H-IPS/S-IPS panel remains the best type of IPS panel.. e-IPS panel r use for mid-range budget monitor like Dell U2310, HP ZW24R or NEC EA231WMi.. The main drawback of e-IPS panel is the viewing angle is smaller than H-IPS/S-IPS panel but still bigger than TN panel.. QUOTE(ConquerorX @ Jul 21 2010, 02:23 PM) Good info there @ dauf87. Sorry, everling, what I meant was viewing size. One is 23" and one is 24". Well, with the price of U2410 can get almost 2 x U2311H though for dual monitor I would rather buy a U2410 than have two U2311H. Because of the Only the finest will do... [Top-Gun], maybe I missed it, but what happened with your two U2311H? This post has been edited by everling: Jul 21 2010, 04:42 PM |

Oh. Yes, I also found it difficult to use two monitors at the same time, ending up with a tendency to focus on only one monitor.
I still have some small hope of getting my old 2407WFP(sp?) fixed and then I can try to dual monitor again and hopefully get used to it. Apparently it's missing a hard to find replacement for the damaged component. I'm not missing it much though, as the colours as had rather yellowed after three years. |

When buying from Dell's business section, there's an "Invoice Title" field. For those who are freelancing from home, what can we put in this field?

The RM 749 is after the RM 131 discount. The original price of the monitor was RM 880.
The coupon code can only be added after you click on the "Add to Cart" button. You need to click on the "Customise" button first. |

QUOTE(StereophileDream @ Aug 9 2010, 03:07 PM) Hi,is anyone using U2711 out there?I saw got promotion again(probably the lowest price point since it on the market). Is it worthwhile to buy it now since I already using a 27" display. I also just noted the U2711's RM 700 discount that brings it down to RM 2,199. I think it depends on what is your current 27". If it's one of those 1080p TN displays, then the U2711 is well worth considering. QUOTE(logit85 @ Aug 10 2010, 03:27 PM) i know LCD TV 32 inch i found out 1080P full HD Between HDMI and DVI, I'd pick HDMI only because the head is smaller and cuter. There shouldn't be much of a quality difference between the two, so feel free to let whatever variable (eg: cuteness, cost) you like to sway you.if i connect PC which batter connection HDMI OR DVI for Text Clear for PC i know LCD TV support Resolution most 1920x1080 only ??? but not support Resolution Lower 640x480 and 800x600 and 1024x768 but LCD Monitor Also support lower Resolution too then LCD TVÂ 1920x1080 is 16:9. 640x480, 800x600 and 1024x768 are 4:3 ratios. And I get the feeling that all LCD TV have crappy firmware. This post has been edited by everling: Aug 10 2010, 07:26 PM |

You will only know if you try. And I wouldn't worry about the LCD TV dieing because of that.

QUOTE(clawhammer @ Aug 11 2010, 10:31 AM) Looks like the price is back to RM2,899 but instead the 3008 drops to RM4,199? The small business section is still selling the U2711 for RM 2,199. It's automatically discounted. Tomorrow is the last day. I will be sad to see it go. |

The U2711 is 2560 x 1440 awesome pixels of IPS goodness. As for the text, you could always use the zoom in function, which is what I do on my 1920 x 1200 24" monitor.

Today is the last day. And I'm still broke; saving up for Intel's 3rd Gen 160 GB SSD. Also, if I got the U2711, it would certainly demand that I upgrade from my HD 5670.
I wonder, how much would an almost 4 month old U2410 go for anyway? |

QUOTE(StereophileDream @ Aug 12 2010, 01:59 AM) Wow,what did you mean?Hehe....or just stay with my current display and use the money for SSD like you?ai....sad Well, if you don't have an SSD yet, you might want to consider it. I'm only targeting an SSD budget of about RM 800-900.In either case, it is up to you if you want to spend the money on the monitor. |

I'd rather buy the U2311H than the ST2410. Better colours, better features, better warranty, except that it doesn't support HDMI.

If the D-SUB looks fine, as in the colours are clear, sharp and steady, then there is no need for DVI-D.

Dell has a few 24" monitors, first hand between RM 500 to RM 1.6K. What is your model?
