Cannavaro: Juventus experience so much better than Inter Milan
tribalfootball.com - December 5, 2005 Juventus defender Fabio Cannavaro says he has no regrets over his move away from Inter Milan. Cannavaro said: "Here there is a beautiful atmosphere, organised dinners, the children all nearly go to the same schools and the same arenas. "It is beautiful here and what other clubs find difficult to organise. "I do not know why Inter Milan cannot win trophies, I did not succeed to express myself at my best there. I have resolved those problems here." |

Inter Milan to offer £3M for Man Utd's Giggs
tribalfootball.com - December 6, 2005 QUOTE Inter Milan patron Massimo Moratti is ready to bid for Manchester United winger Ryan Giggs. Moratti has always wanted to see Giggs wearing an Inter shirt and is banking on the January transfer window being the perfect time to convince United to cash in on the 32 year-old. If United fail this week to make the Champions League knockout phase, Moratti will push through a £3 million offer to the Premiership giants, whose owners cannot afford to miss out on the £15 million European jackpot. I don't think Giggs wants to go to Inter unless we want to sell him |

Ex-Inter Milan chief reveals Ronaldinho bid
tribalfootball.com - December 7, 2005 QUOTE Former Inter Milan chief Giuliano Terraneo has revealed they tried to sign Ronaldinho in 1999 when he was with Brazil's Gremio. Parma and Torino also expressed interest in Ronaldinho at the time, but he chose Paris Saint Germain, as Terraneo explained: "The player wanted to come to Europe. "But he also didn't want to play in a big competition and for a big club." |

Figo fired up for derby debut
Saturday 10 December, 2005 Luis Figo is fired up ahead of his first Milan derby and admits it will be a uniquely passionate and intense experience. "It's true that I have played in many derby games in Spain, but this will be my first Italian taste of a local rivalry," he told the official Inter website. "We haven't discussed this tie between ourselves very much, but there's no need to talk up a clash that is known throughout the world. Football is experienced with great intensity in Italy and you can really sense how much the fans want this victory." The former Barcelona star famously had a pig's head thrown at him during a derby match when he was playing for Real Madrid and doesn't expect a similar reception at the San Siro on Sunday evening, but he does believe it will be a key moment in the Nerazzurri's season. "I don't know who plays the better football out of Inter and Milan, but the only thing that counts now is the win. It doesn't matter if we achieve those points through entertaining play or sheer character, but I hope all the fans will be happy with the result we achieve at the final whistle." A victory would enable Inter to leapfrog past Milan into second place and achieve their first Derby della Madonnina celebration since March 2002. "Our objective is to win and we can achieve that if we do what we're capable of," added patron Massimo Moratti. "Psychologically we are a little more confident than Milan going into the game, but it all depends on the individual performances. I would've picked Alvaro Recoba for potential Man of the Match, but he's not 100 per cent fit, so I'll go for Adriano instead." Source: Football Italia |

Inter Milan president hails Adriano after derby success
tribalfootball.com - December 13, 2005 QUOTE Inter Milan president Giacinto Facchetti hailed the return to form of Adriano and also warned Juventus of their own Scudetto ambitions after Sunday's derby win. Facchetti said: "My compliments to Adriano, he was the deciding player, not only for the goals but also for the game. "Now we have past Milan - sure, Juventus are far away on ten points, but we can put pressure on them if they slip up and we continue to win. "We hope for some difficult moments for the Bianconeri: it happened last season." |
