@Ryu, just my suggestion

1. Sounds like your BH is too dry so humudifier is a good idea.
2. This can be good too.
3. Should replace faulty tweeter and external sound, not sure abt changing sound.
4. no comment
5. Can't be total dark as well.

BTW 330 nest in a shop lot with other BHs around can be considered very successful already, just do modifications step by step and look at the results.

Don't change everything 180 in 1 day then all your birds fly to neighbor's BH.

From the feedback and those who attended the meeting in Putrajaya, seems like it is more like a Q/A session for exporters of the industry. Since it is held at a Thursday where BH owners like me who still holds a regular job cannot attend, it is preposterous that they think they represent the whole industry.

The bottom line is there is NO PROBLEM at all with our RBN from BHs. The problem is the downstream processing industries trying to reap hefty profits by adding extra ingredients, and changing the appearance/color of their finished product to fetch a higher than normal price. So it is bullshit learning that our VET department is trying to implement procedures like tracking and registering in this industry.

1. What's the point of registering BHs if there are no problems with raw bird nest supplies? Do kampung folks breeding cattle/chickens need to register?
2. They say it is in case of a bird flu outbreak, these are free flying birds so even if there is an outbreak how does registering BHs help?
3. GPS tracking, what a joke, that's like saying you want to track bees, how do you track something small like a swiftlet?
4. And the RFID box tracking procedure with 5 steps, can someone explain to me how the fck someone came up with such an idea? There are so so so many loop holes with this system to begin with. Alas we must realize only brain dead moron government servants educated from our locally certified institutions can come up with such a system.

Since the problem is with the downstream processors, why don't we implement strict guidelines on processors? Every shipments has to be checked and random inspections conducted on the premises. And reward for employees that tip the authorities on processors adding chemicals into their nests.
Even then, how does this stop our china counterparts from adding other stuff into BN from Malaysia and then blame us when something wrong happens?

You can't, therefore you can be certain that all these procedures from our VET department is substance-less, they are just making a PR stunt showing how professional and dedicated they are. Until our DVS comes up with more practical approach to these issues, I'm just gonna be in the dark watching, because we really deserve better than these idiots. mad.gif

Most players will automatically play files by sequence normally sorted alphabetically.

If power is interrupted it will start the loop all over again when power resumes.

If u need to prove it yourself u just copy 3-4 files that are 1mins long into pen driver and try it out.

QUOTE(West Wing @ Oct 13 2011, 09:12 AM)
So, the picture is clear as to whom is behind all these RED nests and why we, Malaysian nests are single out to be punished. We, Malaysian and Malaysian nests are not involved at all. That's I don't know and the Fed. Association should clarified with the Chinese Authorities on the matter and if possible keep us informed.
That's wrong sifu WW, we Malaysians are involved because local ppl pakat with Indonesians and export their red nest using Malaysia as country of origin.

You can say that we're not involved but truth is Chinese official will only look at country of origin. They don't give 2 shit about Indonesians using Malaysia to export their product, because only in our Malaysia boleh country a whole industry is directly destroyed by the Indonesians. Where's the enforcement? How is it possible the total export increase from 1.44 ton in 2009 to over 100 ton in 2010? That's over 100 times, lol tell me whether you think that's even possible if it's all local nests vmad.gif

And personally I think this time BN is being KO, not sure how long only it will stand up again, if it ever will.
Keep in mind that public perception is of utmost importance, remember how I posted that Qing dynasty medical text that states that 'RED' nest is good, so even 200 years later ppl still pay a high price of red nests. Since there are close to zero red nests occurring in the natural world shady businessman will resort to making red nest so they can make a hefty profit.

And this time the negative news in China about BN is persistent, you watch any major chinese TV network like CCTV, Hunan TV, Zhejiang TV, Guang Zhou TV etc everyone of them have report on "black hearted" bird's nests 黑心燕窝. Therefore everybody knows.
Even recently I have a friend from China who is actually the local police chief for a county in Fujian province even when I offered to give him some BN for as gift he declined just because of all the negativity surrounding BN that he doesn't even think it is safe to eat.

Therefore, this time the shit really hits the fan since a lot of ppl in the industry love shit. Literally, from inside BH to outside BH (on the nest). Personally I don't use any bird shit to attract birds in my BH but still just as successful, just a rant anyways.

The best indicator would be coming of next Chinese New Year, if there's no improvement on the price, then it means probably this industry is gonna stay 'tenggelam' for a while to come.

Even all the China news you see where the reporters go undercover at BN selling outlets, some say 1 whole month didn't sell a single box of nest... sounds really bad, REALLY BAD.

Perception is a strange thing, call it a double edged sword. Even if you have the best product in the world but people thinks your product isn't, you're doomed. Just like Apple products, a lot of my kampung friends can't read much of English nor posses the tech savviness to even utilize 10% of iphone or ipad's capabilities, but they HAVE TO OWN one because it is just the damn coolest thing on earth (sarcasm).

And right now the perception in China is Malaysian Chinese are just as bad as their thieving, greedy China made businessman, maybe they are more like Indons but hey the perception is MALAYSIANS ARE DOING this.

And it is very hard to change perception, just like how Ajib spent millions hiring APCO to promote 1malaysia but many if not all the world still thinks our country is a joke.

Havent heard anything abt BN properties but im gonna KIV contruction of my other standalone BH for the time being.

IF low nest price remains, then the $1k/nest valuation for BN properties will have to be lowered to maybe $500-600/nest or less. That would greatly affect the price of BN properties.

Haha sure bro, exactly like stock market.

Right now this is what we call short term supply shock, there is so much supply yet there isn't any willing to buy.

But major difference is stocks are tied to the underlying company you're investing in. If Chinese ppl stop eating BN, not everyone stop per se, but the negative news causing a certain number of people to stop buying bird nest. Then the price of BN will have to come down because there is less demand.

The consumer is the boss in this industry. I see some of u hoping taikor or whatever to save this industry, but if no regular consumer buys BN or holds BN to such high 'value' anymore, there is nothing much anybody can do, am I right?

Sifu WW,

If you send to Indo to clean, how are you gonna ensure what you get back is 100% nests lol??

You know indo cleaners aren't really known for their 100% genuine bird nests.

Personally, as a person from a science background I tend to be skeptical of all the 'claims' of consuming bird's nest. Like what philoswiftlet bro said, BN isn't magic bullet but the industry tend to try and paint this perception onto the consumers so they will pay extravagant prices for BN, especially red ones.

I'm just an investor, if there is demand for BN then there is value for the nests. Monetary value and not nutritional value. I'm pretty sure there are some fibres, proteins, carbs etc inside a BN, but claims like rejuvenating your skin and curing cough, those just seem very far fetched considering any of you that has been industry see how these factories process the nests, you'd be lucky if you're not poisoned from eating them.

So my fellow sifus stop thinking too much abt the nutritional value of BNs, it is just a gourmet food. Like white ppl have their truffles and caviar. Good caviar like Beluga caviar can sell for 500 USD /pound, even more expensive than BN. But it is just fish eggs, nothing special. Same for nests, just saliva in my humble opinion. But people pay good price for it so why not? At least I'm not dying my nests red ...... yawn.gif

The heading of the video reads: China's 'black-hearted' cancer causing blood nest, sodium nitrite 350 times over limit.

And it says 100% red nests are found to be contains high lvl of nitrites in the Zhejiang market.

For my previous few BHs, basically I calculate how many tweeter I use using total area divided by 10. So basically every tweeter for 10 sq.ft space.

20x80 3 story BH = 480 tweeter.

This is not universal but basically make sure every plank has couple tweeter on it. Both ends and at where planks meet. I remember my 1st BH the CONsultant used less than 100 tweeters for 24x70 3 story BH. After 1 year I added couple hundred tweeters and the growth effect was really noticeable.

Of course normally we put tweeters at corners and both ends because new birds love to make 90 degree nest (it's easier). But don't expect new BH to have 180 deg nests even if you add a ton of speakers on just a straight plank. Maybe some but very little.

Over 3000 tweeters seem like overdoing it, is there even space for birds to nest with that many speakers? 500+ tweeters in a 3 story BH already seem like a lot

Use those 30 core fajar brand audio cables, like rm90++ for 100 meter those are pretty reliable.

I use nothing less than 30 core because of experience from CONsultants using sub-par cables causing a lot of headache.

The 3 birds that you say come daily, does it means it is staying overnight or not? That's very important because once it stays you can be sure it will start making nests when the time comes. Be patient and be happy you already have a couple of 'tenants' in your BH, some might be young birds so it will be a couple months before they reach maturity before mating and start making nests.

As you would have noticed they make nests to nurture their young not to stay in since they can cling onto the nesting planks perfectly fine without needing a nest.

Your external sound configuration might be a problem but can't really tell what's wrong by your description through a forum, and it always take a little time before AF venture deeper into a BH so you claiming birds only playing at top floor is perfectly logical.

If your wires melted even if 30 core I think something is wrong with your wiring.
There are consultants out there that still can't figure out how parallel and series wiring work. There might be a short circuit in your wiring system. Don't just blindly replace the wiring as it is make sure tweeters and their wiring are installed correctly.

I hate to say it but there are still ppl out there who thinks they should wire their tweeters/speakers in series configuration, 1 speaker kaboom the rest of the sound GONE because your circuit is cut off. Here's a guide to basic electrical system for those whom are interested:

Normally even if you use cheap cables it is pretty hard for it to melt because amps don't use a lot of power. A normal BH amplifier might have a 200-300 Watt output power and 30 core cheap cable is enough to withstand the current. So I suggest checking the wiring before blaming it on cheap wire because my 1st BH the consultant use cheap wire I think 20 core only it still lasted 2-3 years before need an overhaul.

Don't forget that the retail - over the counter price of EBN has hardly dropped, not in proportion with the price of raw EBN.

Some middlemen make much much more by adulterating our raw EBN, and in the past, turning them into 'Red' nests and causing all this trouble.

Why should the farmers bear the lower prices whilst the middle men take the majority of the profits.

I have not harvested since CNY
*
That's the cold hard fact, no matter what industry you in the raw material supplier/farmers always get the short end of the stick.

That's why for those that have the resource and capability, they become middleman or retailer because they make the most $$$ and set the prices. Furthermore there is no fixed exchange for BN unlike palm oil, iron, copper etc the middleman can always band together and squeeze us dry.
