hi ,

i am quite new in this venture and have the following questions:

1. found 4 t0 5 eggs drop on the swiftlet shits below the nest (same spot). what is the possible reason for this.

2. found 1 baby swiftlet with feathers already dead on the floor below nest (this particular nest has 2 baby birds). what is the possible reason.

hope senior members with similar case or knowledge can help.

thanks alot .

Check the temp. Of yr. Bh . Sound like it's too cold. Usually happen on the ground floor.

Check the dropped eggs if the shell is soft if u have many non-hatched eggs on the floor. If soft means dead eggs due to over temp. Parents kick the dead eggs out to make room for new eggs. Eggs can survive up to 35-36dg nesting spot temp but not more than that. Got to stick your data logger on the ceiling to get nesting spot temp.

If temp is 35 to 36 the birds would have abandon your BH and therefor no eggs. So is most probably is too cold. If you, like so many new BH owners entering your BH trying to count your birds at night this will spooked your birds resulting loss of eggs and chicks.

I am just being paranoid. This may be just testing water by China and watch the reaction before forcing the producer to sell all raw BN to china and have them process to China 's standard.

This will then open up thousands of BN processing plant and create hundreds of thousand of jobs in china . Also imagine the saving in foreign exchange!!!

Just my paranoid mind.

Here is some good news. Swifin has recently sent Sabah House Nest to Singapore to have it's natural nitrate contain analyzed . The test result shows it Contain only 15 ppm where as the allowed safe level is 30ppm. In any case if we worry about eating BN because of it's natural nitrate contain , then they should ban all preserved meat product like ham and bacon . Nitrate is the main ingredient use to cure the meat.

Hi,

As we have discuss before and that the knob doesn't make the difference as all depend on what Amp you are using and many others factors like the number of tweeters, type of wire, length of wires and all will make the differences in the output of the tweeters sound.

Even when the AMP are the same made and everything the same, the facts still remain that everyone of the AMP will produce slightly different in output as nothing in the world can be produce the identical even in identical twin cos there will certainly be a difference in output so let your ears to hear and your brain to decide whether you got the right pitch and the resultant view of swiftlets @ BH will be your final goal and achievement.

As for coil or piezo type, and this one, I leave it to the expert to comment.

Hope that I am of help.

If you mix coil tweeters and piezo tweeters using the same amp you will either fry the coil tweeters or fry the amp. The piezo tweeters are more rezelian . However if you mix magnetic tweeters and piezo tweeters they seem to work ok . My 2 cents.

I think the ploy is finally to just get our raw materials at the price they want. Then to process in china to "their" standard. This will create heaps of jobs and foreign exchange saving. Inevitably they will partner with some powerful politician and will only buy from this "relaiable source" who will detect the price of raw nests. I bet this is in the making! They are not talking or ban preserved meat and so on that is loaded with nitrate that is use to cure these product. They only target BN as they smell money and what a killing. Remember years ago they want to control the distribution of Chinese new year oranges??? Anyone want to put some money on this ploy?? Haha only joking - I mean the bet the ploy is for real . wait and see!
