i heard some sounds when i drove in uneven roads..... dunno wat 'cluck cluck' sound....but feel like something is lose... previous days dun hv...only happen yesterday(monday).... /quote] I having the same issue previously, sound like something loose, I told my wife the sound is from passenger seat and she said is from driver seat. So end up we found the culprit, that is the misplaced sun glass in the sunglass container that causing the problem!
Haha i've experienced this the first week i've got my forte. I was trying so hard to find the sound. In the end only realize it's coming from the sunglass compartment. Put the sunglass in a fabric pouch and no more sound since 1 month after driving forte and i found there are vibrating sound coming from the dashboard / meter side and seatbelt. And 1 more thing very geram, yesterday found out my windscreen got one deep hole caused by stone i think. It's not cracked but seems like chipped. There is one deep dot with discoloration on the side. Can this be repaired? i m afraid it'll crack sometime soon. So many years driving my wira and this never happened. Is it the quality of the windscreen or it's pure luck? Thanks |

Anyone tried VPower97 from Shell?
I pumped full tank last Friday night. RM95 full tank. Shell RON95 was around RM80-RM85. For RM15 more, so far after using half a tank i noticed i got around 20km more. Last time RON95 half tank only get me around 230-250km, now i already reach 270km. I m not sure if it's placebo effect but the engine seems to be more quiet and responsive. Will try full tank and see if it's worth the RM15 more If RM85 can travel 470km = RM0.18/km RM95 can travel 500km = RM0.19/km I think it's worth the extra RM0.01/km? QUOTE(redrum77 @ Jun 29 2010, 05:26 PM) seems that everyone getting nice mileage, unfortunately for me my 2.0 is pretty high. Not able to hit 400km currently using Shell RON 95. Wow bro, u've been racing the engine frequently? 400km is normally not a problem. i only have problem hitting 500km. I normally hit 420km to 450km before distance to empty drops below 50 and starts blinking. So it's safe to say it can hit around 470km |

At first i m not used to it, but after some time i think it's ok already. It still supports your head just not the whole head.
Anyway do you all rest on headrest all the time when you're driving? I m looking for a comfortable driving position. Until now still cannot find. I tend to slouch to the front a bit when driving. So my head doesn't rest on the headrest all the time |

QUOTE(Taipan052 @ Jun 30 2010, 02:46 PM) one of the symptoms is car jerking at 40 or 50KM/H.. but if more than that no problem no jerking at all.. I have that exact problem and i've posted here b4.thats what has been told by the owner lah.. I thought it's normal coz of changing gears. So it's the crank pulley. That's why i thought why the car is not smooth when changing gears. I feel like the car is jerking and pulling back a bit when at around 30-60km/h. Will it cause any damage to the engine? The SC can solve this problem? By changing the pulley? Thanks bro |

QUOTE(izputra @ Jun 30 2010, 04:45 PM) That's weird..so it cause by something else then. need to be rectify before this thing become worst. Last time when using my old wira & waja, this light jerking is happen frequently due to on/off of the aircond compressor when cruising at low speed. but no such thing in the Forte now... For me the jerking only happens when upshifting from 2nd to 3rd gear or from 3rd gear to 2nd gear. other than that no jerking.EDIT : One thing i need to add is it happens only when the foot is not on the accelerator. E.g. When i m cornering, i let go of the accelerator, when the car slows down i feel the jerk. But during exiting toll, i step on the accelerator from 0 - 80km/h, i don't feel the jerk. The jerking feels like gear shifting but i don't think its becoz its not CVT engine. Even my wira or proton saga blm last time don't have this kind of jerking/pulling feel. You can feel downshift in a smooth drag feeling (once) but with forte it's like (dek dek dek, 3 times jerk). I asked SC during 1K service and they said it's normal, even took my car for a drive and still they said no problem. So i m not sure if it's pulley problem. The undercarriage sound is more substantial. I can hear it everytime i off the engine. Last time wira and proton don't have this sound. But the toyota startlet turbo i drove last time got. It's from the exhaust cooling down. Quite loud, but i think should be ok This post has been edited by toytoy: Jun 30 2010, 05:01 PM |

I used to turn off the aircond before stopping the engine. But then i heard New cars like Forte will cut off the power to the compressor before starting the engine. Thus there will be no problem.
I also dunno whether it's correct or not. Anyway we have 2 years warranty. Furthermore the manual oso never said to turn off a/c before turning off engine. So i leave it on. If compressor or battery kong during 1st 2 years then claim warranty hehe. |

Report for 1st Tank of VPower97.
470km before Distance to empty starts blinking. Assuming additional 50km thus total 520km. Compared to previous Shell RON95, 420km to 440km starts blinking + 50km = 470km to 490km. VP97, RM95/520km = RM0.183/km RON95, RM85/490km = RM0.173/km For more power, smoother engine, more km covered for only RM0.01 more per km, i would vote for RON97. Just filled up 2nd tank VP97 today, after this will try Caltex RON97 and do one more round of comparison to see if any RON97 will get good FC or just VP97 Good news today RON97 price didn't go up. But then dunno when it'll increase sigh... |

I think becoz bro letmein is driving 80% highway. The FC for 2.0 on highway is very impressive. I drove once from KL-Seremban-KL and FC only showing 8.xL/km. hehe.

Today i experienced the jerking while accelerating. It is most obvious during 40km/h to 60km/h where there is a red line on the meter at 50km/h.

If you've used Fully Synthetic Oil for ur 1K service then it's normal for RPM to go up. Mine went up to 2k and came back down gradually. That's for heating up the lubricants.
But 16.5l/100km is a bit high. Maybe becoz you're always travelling short distance with slow traffic? |

Something very very sad happened.
My car which is only a month old got banged from the back on saturday. Some more in front of a traffic light which has only 3 cars. My heart ached until cannot say out sigh... Although from outside only a few scratches (the bumper very geng, will come out by itself) but the bonnet already went in a bit. My rear lights are not aligned now. Sigh~~~~~ |
