Ooo, 100% highway no wonder
FC stable around 10.x when driving smoothly. Using manual and drive like crazy will reach 11L/100Km/h I drove until 170km/h just now, wind sound not that much but tyre sound bit loud. |

For bros and sis getting low FC, did you reset the FC reading after refuelling?
Yesterday my FC went up to 11L so i reset the FC reading after refuelling. It fluctuates around 6.x to 9.xL and finally today it stabalized at around 10.1 So i think this is optimum for city driving already. |

QUOTE(bmkia @ Jun 8 2010, 05:55 PM) Wow...I get the impression your 2.0 batch FC quite good. Some more its a new car and not full break in period yet. The Front WS don't have tint, it's an UV Cut Glass or something, meaning the UV protection is 'built-in' to the glass. (Please correct me if i m wrong). After i put tint with TSER 47%, it's really very cool Sis laurenfoo, Heard some good news today (not sure true or not). Another batch coming in end of this week and got a lot of 2.0 white colour this time. Some spy told me there are making space for the new batch to arrive. If others here are being requested to settle their full DP, then maybe its true d. Cross our fingers and hope to get our cars fast this time. Added on June 8, 2010, 6:06 pm Hello there Thanks for the report. Must be damn "soong" with your speechless right now. But the seatbelt chime, I don't think got chime sound. Just blinking for awhile then go off d unlike dugong which will bug u. Correct me if I'm wrong, I noticed this during my last test drive. As for the standard UV tint, I read on facebook b4 posted by KIA Malaysia. standard TSER already like 40% plus. If fix good tinting the TSER will be damned good d. Can anyone here confirm this. Actually, in many ways the car dint come in April...got help also...now budget got few extra k (save on budgeted installments) to spend on poison like "ECOTINT, Body kit & Autofoam d" Bro, you done your tinting yet? I'm all out for ecotint raybarrier all round.... for security tint maybe next round.... if normal tint they dont need remove door panel. Any bros here installed the full package A, B & C autofoam? Can share the experience? I read the review kena poison d... I did security tint on my side windows, they didn't take out door panel. Only pry open the top a bit and take out the rubber. |

Dear Fortezens, please help.
I heard other ppl having this problem before. But i experienced it this morning. This morning when i start my car, the rpm shot up to 1.5k, then i heard some crankling noise (as mentioned by other fortezend b4). After driving some distance and stopped at traffic lights, the rpm went back to 0.5k and no more noise already. May i know if this is normal? I did my 1st service last Friday only and i did not pay attention and not sure if this is first time happening. Also, whenever i turn the Temp Knob to adjust a/c temp, i will hear some strange noise like 'jit jit' sound. Is this normal? Thanks. |

QUOTE(bomberman @ Jun 10 2010, 03:27 PM) sorry to say this but nothing can be replacing the cc in terms of small modding such as air filter & spark to upgrade the 1.6 to so called 1.8 or 1.9..... as originally the 1.6 engine is designed to almost on par with the current available 1.8 engine in the market. to add the power of the engine you must bolt on turbo / supercharge. but as i said last time, after my comparison with a civic 1.8, forte 2.0 power just consider on par or slightly better only (in auto mode). Anyway, our forte nor civic (type R excluded) is just normal civilian car and not a performance car... so no point to compare like that. difference betweent the 1.6 & 2.0 is the 'pick up' power which usually obvious when the car start moving from idle, top speed between 1.6 & 2.0 is not much different... Hmm, from the official specs1.6 = 124ps and 2.0 = 156ps 1.6 = 156Nm and 2.0 = 194Nm Since 2.0 has higher torque, so you can feel more pickup. But horsepower i don understand. 2.0 has got more horsepower than 1.6, so the top speed should be higher than 1.6 also. Unless there is a limiter in the ECU? Correct me if im wrong |

Don't be fooled by the interior from that link. I thought it was so much nicer than Forte until i saw the real thing from Paultan's. Check this out. YUCKS~~~
Chevy Cruze Paultan But then i must say the features are nice and the 6 speed transmission will be dang sweet All in all, i still like My forte |

yaya, but although 6 speeds, but top speed is still 190km/h.
The interior really looked cheap. Exterior-wise nothing much to talk about. Front is neither garang or tame, looks weird. Rear lights looks a bit like Civic and from side look a bit like BMW 5 series. But when put together only can say it's weird. Forte is soooooooooooo much nicer lah hehe. |

Dear fortezens, especially those with 2.0.
I have been driving my 2.0 for few weeks now and have this concern regarding the gear ratio/performance of the car. The car tends to upshift very fast, from 3rd to 4th gear. I've read it somewhere in the forum b4 but i still need to ask if it's normal? It's frustrating coz whenever i m driving at around 80-90km/h in the highway and i need to over take on the fast lane, it will take a few seconds before reaching 110-120, seems like no torque on 4th gear. I need to step hard on the accelerator for the car to down shift to 3rd gear. Is this normal? I know i can switch to manual mode and drop gear but it's too much of a hassle. Sometimes i thought it'll be better with an OD button Any other bros/sis experienced this? |

QUOTE(StarGhazzer @ Jun 16 2010, 09:05 PM) Normal. The 4th gear is there for cruising, and when at speeds of 80kmh it's only 1800rpm, mana ada torque? I understand Forte is a family sedan, and it's one of the reason i bought this car. If i wanted more torque i'd have gone for 308turbo.There's no need for overdrive button as you still need to press it for it to work; might as well just use the shift-tronic to down shift to 3rd gear and rev it all the way up to 3000 rpm. It'll reach 110kmh in no time. And after that if you upshift back to 4th while keeping the gas pedal depressed (keeping revs >3000rpm) you'll fly up to 140kmh very quickly. However don't expect it crush kidneys or smoke other road users. It is, after all, a family sedan and not a turbo/supercharged machine. Anyway, you're not supposed to go up to 110kmh in a 90kmh zone The thing is i was wondering why the torque is so low at 60-80km/h. Imagine i have to overtake a slower car and i went out to fast lane, then i m accelerating at a very slow speed then a fast car come from behind. It's dangerous. Yes, putting it into manual mode and downshifting to 3rd gear solves the problem but it's inconvenient. All i was trying to say is that the accelerator should be more responsive. at 1/3 press it should downshift already, now i have to go at least 1/2 to 2/3 press before it downshifts and the accelerator is very heavy By the way SPAIN SUUUUUUUUUUCKS!!! QUOTE(StarGhazzer @ Jun 17 2010, 03:37 AM) It's one of the common complaints of the Forte, where the auto gear box upshifts too early to cause loss of torque. And it's also recognised that the dated box limits the performance of the Theta II. This is why Kia came out with the ECU upgrade although I'm not sure about its availability in Australia let alone M'sia. Yes, i drove the S320 (4-5 generations back) before and it's more sluggish than my forte.Slam the pedal and the car will down shift, although shift-tronic will be easier and faster. To be fair, most Mercedes Benzs, at least the older models, have a sluggish throttle as well where you need to depress it more than 1/2 the way before it starts to downshift and accelerate. And yes Spain sucks. I thought the car was too old already, so it's slow, or it's too heavy I m used to depressing the accelerator slowly (Save Fuel Mah...). Only when I sot-plug and drive like crazy that time i will depress quickly and all the way to max. I had a mindset that this is not good for the car hehe. Coz the car keep on downshifting and revving high. I'll try to get to know the car better. As long as it's normal and not defect then ok liao. I am ok with the manual mode. Downshifting manually before going up slope, or overtaking cars is really smooth. I just thought the ECU is smart enough to know when you need the power and downshift for you. If you've driven the 308Turbo u'll know what i am talking about. But then the 308 has got much more torque compared to forte so maybe that's why. I did the conventional break-in so during the 1st 1K i did not let the engine rev over 4k, but now i m driving like crazy lah. Maybe the engine became too tame already. Need to 're-train' it hehe. Added on June 17, 2010, 12:26 pm QUOTE(ahfahmiz @ Jun 17 2010, 11:49 AM) [attachmentid=1631537] my new ride So far I've seen most 2.0 with city driving at around 10l/100km. For me also around 10-11L. FC Report for 2.0 first day after reset i managed to clock the best of only up to 7.4l/100km during travelling from KL-Putrajaya. later yesterday and today the clock only hovering around 10l/100km which is quite not good i think. i've tried to make my right foot lighter when pressing the pedal but still cannot get below 8l/100km. guess 2.0 really makan minyak laa.. huhuh.. But last week i've driven to seremban and back. FC shows around 8.x and until now almost a week already still not touching 10L, today is around 9.7L. Dear bros, i did something very stupid/dangerous just now. Was driving at around 40km/h and tried pressing start/stop button. I thought the engine won't shutdown but i was wrong. It shuts off and i was dragging at D transmission.
Then i straightaway put to N and start the car again. I did this twice coz i thought it can't be happening and so i was wrong. My question is, will this damage the engine? Transmission Box? etc? I felt the steering trembling very minorly when stopping with D transmission and brakes depressed. I m not sure if that's normal or i m just paranoid? hehe |
