I sent my 2.0 for 1000KM service 2 days ago. As recommended, change the engine oil to fully synthetic, also have replaced the oil filter. Yesterday when i was driving out for lunch, suddenly felt the engine rev higher than before and reluctant to change to higher gear. I double checked that it was in D mode. That time i was moving slowly because of traffic, should be less than 20km/h, the gear was always on 1 or 2. First i thought it might because of slow moving but i never had the dragging feeling before. Then i changed the gear to N when moving at 15-20km/h, the car slowdown(like pressing lightly on brake) stopped itself without me pressing the brake. Then i moved back to D and it wont move until i press the accelerator, and the dragging feeling is like u forgot to release your handbrake fully. After some distance i found it back for normal and the next few KMs travelled did not have such problem until i almost reach my office, same problem occurred again. During the journey back home i encountered the same problem twice. This morning i get the same problem on highway, suddenly i felt the dragging and the engine was forced to lower the gear to push the car harder in order to accelerate but after some distance it went back to normal. It never happened before 1000km service.

This seems like an intermittent problem! I wonder anyone encounters the same problem? Please help!!! 

You mean this is normal?! It happens after 30mins of driving as well.
Sad that 2 weeks old car has this kind of problem. Not sure if it could damage the engine if i continue driving it. I'd better book a time with SC first..

one of the symptoms is car jerking at 40 or 50KM/H.. but if more than that no problem no jerking at all..
thats what has been told by the owner lah..

errr.. when i say jerking its very bad jerking. you feel the whole body jerk. the feeling is the same like someone "goyang" your car.
i dunno the solution.. better check with SC for clarification.

I think for your case, it is just a normal light jerk due to gear upshift. my 2.0 also can feel the light jerk during gear upshift especially when engine running cold & i consider that as normal since  our forte used the conventional gearbox, not the CVT anyway...  even my father's Super-ECT transmission Vios also can feel the light jerk during gear upshifting

40-50km/h should be the range of speed where the Forte upshift/downshift from 3rd to 4th gear vice versa depending on the car's load & road conditions. try cruising away from that speed i.e. 70km/h to observe whether the same thing happen...

That's weird..so it cause by something else then. need to be rectify before this thing become worst. Last time when using my old wira & waja, this light jerking is happen frequently due to on/off of the aircond compressor when cruising at low speed. but no such thing in the Forte now...

For me the jerking only happens when upshifting from 2nd to 3rd gear or from 3rd gear to 2nd gear. other than that no jerking.

EDIT : One thing i need to add is it happens only when the foot is not on the accelerator. E.g. When i m cornering, i let go of the accelerator, when the car slows down i feel the jerk. But during exiting toll, i step on the accelerator from 0 - 80km/h, i don't feel the jerk.

The jerking feels like gear shifting but i don't think its becoz its not CVT engine. Even my wira or proton saga blm last time don't have this kind of jerking/pulling feel. You can feel downshift in a smooth drag feeling (once) but with forte it's like (dek dek dek, 3 times jerk). I asked SC during 1K service and they said it's normal, even took my car for a drive and still they said no problem. So i m not sure if it's pulley problem.

The undercarriage sound is more substantial. I can hear it everytime i off the engine. Last time wira and proton don't have this sound. But the toyota startlet turbo i drove last time got. It's from the exhaust cooling down. Quite loud, but i think should be ok

For the jerking problem, so far it happens to 1.6 only?
Btw, what is our foglight bulb type?

I used to turn off the aircond before stopping the engine. But then i heard New cars like Forte will cut off the power to the compressor before starting the engine. Thus there will be no problem.

I also dunno whether it's correct or not. Anyway we have 2 years warranty. Furthermore the manual oso never said to turn off a/c before turning off engine. So i leave it on. If compressor or battery kong during 1st 2 years then claim warranty hehe.

Guys...just a little input on the jerking issue. I have also been experiencing jerking, and it seemed pretty noticable today. Jerking happens when i downshift, ie when i slow down or depress the brakes. Normally happens within the 20-40km/h range. It will jerk two or three times

But when i am accelerating, i do not feel the jerking. Upshifts are quite smooth. Just the downshift repeated jerking. Quite annoying. Seems like the car is confused or trying to mate the sped with the suitable gear. Can it be solved

Besides that, is it true that the car lacks low end torque? Kinda need to push hard to gain decent momentum. Not high speed racing, just normal decent speeds

i see. is it the brake not control well? many new cars also like that when they press abit brake den will jerk .

Please add me in... bmkia (1.6 SX - Clear White)    Finally took my 1.6 whitey at rawang today and just got home.

Damned tired now, the moment I step into the car ard 4.30 just now to inspect the car, it started raining heavily... end up having to reduce the tyre pressure in the rain from 44 PSI to 36 for all 4 and end up soaking wet. By the time I left Rawang, it was like 6 d.... kena jam kau kau with rain all the way back to 1 Utama.... but the drive (despite being cold and wet ) is worth it.

The car got no "jerk" or rattling problem but alignment something off, it steers to the left. The sound system is GOOD esp with CD, USB ok but radio a bit weak. Gonna go shower then starting reading the car manual d. Tomoro gonna go fix tint with Amuroray in Cheras.

For people here that dint get their car yet, I managed to buy wheel cap (kia silver + installation) for RM100 from the store guys there. Also asked them to install my "K"emblem for free which I brought there.

Fully synthetic oil after 1k service might be the cause?

But i felt the jerking b4 my 1k service hehe...

Bro, try RON97 fuel and see if the jerkings reduce
