Hey guys! Hope newbies are welcomed here.

I just started getting into electronica music. Got myself a humble 25 keys midi keyboard into my Mac.
Next, I am thinking of setting up a simple home setup, just for practice and some recording of my stuff into the Mac.
I already have a cheap headphone, so I guess next I'll need
monitor speakers and a
USB audio interface.
I was told that plugging from the audio jack out of my Mac straight into the PA is not a good idea.. That's why I am considering a USB audio interface.

Just for very budget and simple room practice, what monitor speakers should I be looking at? (I was even considering just PC speakers, but I heard even the cheapest of monitor speakers will sound better than any PC speakers.)

What about USB audio interface? Is it really necessary to get a good one like Focusrite 2i2? Or just a cheaper one will do?
Do you guys bring your own USB audio interface to gigs to connect it to the PA ? Or do you have another more convenient method?
I'm just trying to justify the need of a good USB audio interface.. Because if it's really necessary to have a good one for future gigs, I'll consider a good one.
Hi there, haha long time since I heard Electronica! brings back the days of benny benassi of old hahaha. Please find my recommendation below.
1. Consider investing in a good headphones (if long term and planning to play professionally(Semi))
2. Monitor speakers and audio interface? You mean an external sound card with a balanced xlr or how?
3. I use pc speakers and not much issue with it. It really comes down to what you're trying to achieve. If you're into home recording, production and mastering I'd stay that it's essential to get a good pair of monitors. If you're just using it to practice with cdjs or anything, any speakers will do, even a home hifi.
4. Again, what are you trying to achieve with your usb interface? To link your laptop to the cdjs? That case you'd probably have to get something that is more suitable to which software you're using. Traktor, Serato, etc. If just a sound card to plug in your speakers, perhaps you can just invest in a cheap external sound card should do the job. For digital players, they usually bring along their soundcards like the Traktor Audio2DJ,A4DJ, A6DJ or their serato interface.
I think it's better to tell us what exactly you're hoping to achieve in the long term. You dont need to spend the whole lump sum at once. I find it's better to get some quality equipment then to change halfway down the road when you've outgrown it. That way you can really tell the difference.
All the best in beginning your journey
