totally agree. But don;t you think is better to have an on going promotion which has been occuring for one year than a standard boring cash rebate biggrin.gif

well, can't complain too much, as I'm also holding the PBB MU card biggrin.gif

yea so far so good.. but due to folly on my side or is it technicality, i totally missed on the cash back of month of march, the 8x one...

btw, your mu cc already a visa right? when are they canceling our mu master actually?
*
now since you've mentioned it, I also din noticed my March rebate, the last rebate payout which is on 30/03 should be for February
UPDATE: I did not hv 8 qualifying transactions for March - utilities and insurance not counted
PBB inform me they will only cancel the MU Master by end of July, previously they told me end of May

What I am concerned is that PBB is not going to extend the cash back promotion when I get the card, knowing that PBB has been running the promotion for quite some time now. PBB CCs are useless if no cash back is given.
*
hehe, that's true
and they also hv 10% for overseas swipes until end of August

Gosh! PBB is throwing $$$. You should inform me earlier.

The maximum cash back for overseas transactions during the promotion period is RM200 upon a cumulative spending of RM500, which is up to 40% cash back!
*
hehe, still not too late to get it now
i believe it's 10% up to maximum of RM200 of rebates but must accumulate minimum spending of RM500, else you'll get nothing

i just remembered it coz I'm going overseas next week, thus looking for which of my cc that gives the best return biggrin.gif

I checked with the CS again. It's confirmed that you will get RM60 cash back if you hit a cumulative spending of RM80 (regardless of how many swipes) within 60 days after the card approval date. However, you will need to pay the RM50 service tax in advance.
*
u apply online or manual submit form to branch?

I am hesitating about applying for the card. If I were to apply, it will be via online application. To be frank, the Plat series looks awful.

hehe, very lousy rebate and look indeed

I only have a Senator letter saying I have successfully completed my Degree and with such and such Class. Not sure if they will accept this.

By the way, HSBC is also giving out RM160 if you apply for this HSBC Advance VISA Platinum credit card online. I am so freaking tempted now    drool.gif
*
hehe, that's one of the reason I'm asking tongue.gif
I used to hold a HSBC gold cc few yrs back, not sure whether I'm eligible for the RM160 or not

so if we apply online, are they going to open the CA package as well? I wonder how they can get the 20k if we open online.

A few years ago, right ? If this is the case, then yes. You are eligible for the RM160.
You will have to apply for the HSBC Advance first. I suppose they just expect you to make the deposit at their branch someday when you go to get your HSBC Advance ATM card.

Anyway, if you open the HSBC Advance online, you'll see a message that you'll be applying for the HSBC Advance VISA Platinum at the same time (see below).

[attachmentid=1687994]

And the account maintenance fee won't come into play until 1st January 2011.
ic, thx for the info
hmm.gif , need to maintain 20k or have housing loan > 150k, hv to think 1st

Not necessarily so. Many have questions how it really works for Standard Chartered as people noticed that the rate after conversion for Standard Chartered credit card is constantly higher than many crediit card from many other leading banks in Malaysia.
*
hmm.gif , the conversion rates is determined by Master or Visa, the banks just add the admin fees, wasn't that the case?
too bad I did not have another Mastercard with me currently to test it out

izzit the chances getting a new cc will be lower if we have too many cards?

i currently have 3 on my hand, those new one i applied all rejected

kinda pissed off when my record is clean
*
numbers of cards matter, but so as total credit line
if your total CL to your annual income ratio is high, means you are too expose
