I have the same issue with Maybank and worse is I had them cancel it last year December yet the card was still active and went through the above. Eventually they did settle reversing it BUT it's still on my Maybank2U. Will see if it's really cancel or just left showing online only.
*
it will be on M2U forever until you fill in a form to unlink it

Lousy system/process then and what a hassle.... Citibank would deactivate the a/c for that card almost immediately.
Did contact the CS to remove them about few weeks back but still the same. I'm not bothered if the cancellation is confirmed .
*
yea, i would prefer an option to remove which ever account I want within m2u itself
don't bother, my cards were still there after more than one year, but they did confirmed the cards are closed

it's not he's fault for not informing the merchant

question 1: Has the credit card been cancelled?
question 2: When was the exact cancellation date?

For someone in his early 30s earning RM 25k a month without any prior commitment or credit history, which bank do you suggest him apply for his first credit card? He plans to get either World Mastercard or Visa Infinite or Platinum cards. Which bank is most likely to approve his application and give highest limit for a first timer like him? His CCRIS, CTOS is clean 100%. A virgin in short.

is there a need to ask 3 times sweat.gif

if provide income documents, any banks will do
as for which bank/card, depends on what you wish to use the cc for

Yah, you are absolutely correct with your statement if purely petrol up to RM600/month.

I was thinking of changing my Citi Clear Card to Citi Cash Back Platinum, so did some reading and decided not to waste my time applying for the new card after writing about it in my blog. The 0.3% cash back is so ridiculous.

If interested to know my thoughts on the Citibank Cash Back Platinum Credit Card and EON Visa Signature, click here to my blog.

you'll need to write more, it's august now and you only have 3 articles, last yr u hv 15 tongue.gif
u can add the citi premiermiles - visa signature

hmm.gif is the cc market less attractive this yr, i do hope they catch up in the last quarter

thx for sharing the blogs though thumbup.gif

@hye - I only brought up the argument about that imperialist nation  because someone else in the thread inquired about it.

Are you all aware of the percentage of expat workers in kl ? Do you think everyone gets very high pay ? Ofcourse not , as someone said in this thread , if you in this country then you are subject to its laws , Meaning that we are also subject to the sorry pay scale here in good ol truly asia.

Taking into account the scores of aliens here in KL , you would imagine the banks to be a little bit more considerate when asking for a requirement , I understand if local banks have stringent requirements , but why do overseas banks have them ? Being in this country alien banks should understand the pay scales of people , and then setup requirements accordingly.

Dont get me wrong , there are some considerate banks here too , but the overseas banks are the worst to deal with. Alien banks should have more understanding for the aliens here in kl , whose numbers I might add as I mentioned before is extremely high ? Dont believe me , stroll down bangsar , or how about mont kiara a whole community made specifically for aliens , do you think all of them make 100k? OFcourse not !
*
aliens are aliens
I'm in the states now and I can't even apply for credit card - why? Bcoz i dun hv SSN

so what did I get? check card of course

Ths issue here is not the time duration but wheather you will actually require such limit and most important of all, can you pay it back if fully utilised. Lots of people nowadays actually seems to have problem with repayment, even their PTPTN loan at minimal interest also cannot afford to pay, wonder how well they will cope with CC interest??  hmm.gif
*
PTPTN - not cannot afford to pay, is dun wan to pay laugh.gif

*
well, i applied for DA Plat early last yr and they gave me gold instead
so when i received the cards, i told them to get lost tongue.gif

so i would say it depends on the bank

DA has made a smart decision last year. The bank issued me a new Platinum Visa with expiry date 12/10 to replace the existing Gold Visa which was expiring in Jan2010, therefore avoided from being charged RM50 tax too early. Damn smart laugh.gif

yea, all the banks shud hv done that, then we are only due GST in december 10 brows.gif

I swiped my PBB Visa at HKIA last Friday, the merchant charged in RM, the posted amount is same with the transaction slip
so seems like PBB does not charge the so call "cross border fee" rclxms.gif
or maybe it is already reflected during the conversion hmm.gif

yah in hong kong and macau, they give you a choice, charge at foreign currency or RM. you make the call.
*
hmm.gif , they didn't ask me though
i would prefer to be charged in HKD instead of RM

last time when I paid for a hotel in China, it also shown the amount in both RMB and RM even though I specifically asked to be charged in RMB only

Thanks for both of your reply,

I already register just now for CIMB Secure e-pay for my mastercard secure code. After that I proceed with the transsaction and this is what happened cry.gif

First time try, the above image pop up.

Second time try, they mention my password wrong

then error already mad.gif

Just to confirm,
1) did you enter your name as printed on the card?
2) did CIMB show up on the drop down list of Issuer Bank Name?
3) after you clicked submit, did it bring you to another page where you can key in the PIN number which you registered through CIMB secure e-pay?
4) did you enter the exact PIN as when you sign up?

Added on August 12, 2010, 9:38 amsecond message, means you left the page idle for to long
go to the main page of the hotel and repeat the process and complete the payment in one go

What the hell is this SCB doing! I saw an annual fee of RM200 charged on my online statement. When SCB launched JustOne card last year, it was clearly stated that AF is automatically waived if your yearly spending exceeds RM15,000. I just call SCB CS to query, and was informed SCB would only waive the AF upon request.
*
hmm.gif , they did automatically waived mine back in March
my annual fee was charged in March and GST was charged in June though
