I never regret it, because it is my interest since i was small, i just feel, why engineering has less girls compared to other studies?

You folks are such male chauvinists. Folks like you drive women away from trying engineering.

There's truth to that. Most construction industry are male dominant with hard labour workers consisting of male. I pity women in this field though as they usually face constant sexist degradation usually on construction sites.

I think the building and construction industry should not introduce more women as these place are usually harsh and hazardous environment. Most local companies are even starting to go global and most of the projects are located in the middle east/third world country.

Manufacturing is physically and mentally tough too. Women are best at desk and administrative jobs. While you might think this may sound sexist but a lot of top management positions are being filled by women while the men are the ones doing the field works. This is where you see those old single power-ladies in MNC's giving orders to male engineers.

In the end Business Admin/Management female students can end up "pwning" the male engineering students in business organizations.

surprisingly, it's 50-50 female-male students in my uni the engineering faculty, when i was studying my eng. degree.
now that i teach part time in uniten, it's the same case.

as for working, i can see that the electronic/electrical firms, like nokia, intel, agilent, freescale, sony, are female engineers dominated.

oil & gas , building construction, male engineers dominated.

depends on your discipline.

ee related (comp, etc) = 50% girls
chem related (process, food, etc) = 30-40% girls
civil = 10-20% girls
mech related = 3-4 girls T_T

From what i have seen, i can see girls in business, accounting, IT, art.......etc.

However, not many of them study engineering.

In your opinion, why is that?
