is it just me or tottenham players can't really fit into MU? look at carrick and berba. later buy modric and bale smile.gif

So, Carrick's bad form on second part of this season is clearly showing he's not suitable with United?

And where were you when he was majestically playing alongside Scholesy when we first won PL in 2006/2007?

Or am I just imagining things when Roma was smitten 7 times at OT and Carrick scored 2 in that match plus instrumentally important in orchestrating the gameplay?

Sometimes, our fans gets me go shakehead.gif

i dont know about berba, but Carrick is ok for me.i mean come on la every one has up and down days.this season he might be having a low pt but who knows maybe its from an injury or lack of confidence etc etc but he has proved his worth many times la so i still think he is core to our squad.

United announce summer tour

Manchester United will go west to prepare for the 2010/11 season, with new matches announced today for Toronto, Philadelphia, Kansas City and Houston.

The squad, headed by Ryan Giggs and including stars such as Paul Scholes, Edwin van der Sar, Darren Fletcher, Antonio Valencia, John O’Shea, Michael Owen and Dimitar Berbatov, will be bolstered by a number of the promising young players, such as Federico Macheda and the da Silva twins.

First stop is a training camp in Chicago, home of new shirt sponsors Aon. This will be followed by a visit to the Rogers Center in Toronto for a match against Celtic on 16 July, then a return to the Lincoln Financial Field, where United played in 2003 and 2004, against Philadelphia Union on 21 July. Four days later, the Kansas City Wizards provide the opposition at the Arrowhead Stadium, Kansas City. The US matches are completed in Houston on 28 July with a game against the MLS All-Stars in the Reliant Stadium.

Two days later, as already announced, the squad will play the Club’s first ever match in Mexico to open Chivas’ new 45,000 seat stadium in Guadalajara.

Sir Alex Ferguson said: “It’s great to be going back to North America. I enjoyed the last two tours there in 2003 and 2004 immensely. The quality of the facilities is outstanding and there is a real enthusiasm in the crowds. It’s especially pleasing to be going in a World Cup year, when the interest in football will be at its height.”

well either way you see it we have only 3 regular wingers.park, nani, valencia.

giggs has maybe another season left in him so its best to find a replacement soon.bale would fit in the mould nicely and give nani, park, valencia some competition to be always on top.plus he can play left back wch gives evra the much needed cover as of now we are a bit thin on that side.

as for obertan i dont see him entering the frey for at least another 2 seasons.

bale + modric + silva = injury prone = not for BPL.
as much talented as they are, pls.....i don't want another hargo in our team. soli. no.

as for the news of benz. i dun think he wants to leave either. and i oso doubt the likelihood of the the players swapping with spurs. even moreso it's from caughtoffside lar...nothing official from anywhere at all. offer carrick + ando + berba for modric + bale?? i'd rather keep those 3. wat kinda gossip is that!? utter rubbish tbh. hmm.gif

bos said he might get in "1 or 2" players in. i dun expect any big names. but then again, even if there is, the deal may be sealed before WC starts to avoid the price inflation in case those targeted players shine in WC. nod.gif

United stay shocks Van der Sar

QUOTE
Manchester United goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar has admitted he never expected his stay at the club to last as long as it has.

The Dutchman arrived at Old Trafford in 2005 from Fulham and has enjoyed glittering success under Sir Alex Ferguson's stewardship.

Van der Sar has three Premier League titles and a Champions League gong to his name - although he never anticipated spending nearly six years at one of the most successful teams in the world.

And after extending his stay at United for another year, the 39-year-old has his eyes on rounding off his career with the honour of a testimonial match in tribute to his service for the club.

Van der Sar told Inside United: "I still believed I was doing enough to play for a bigger team but you need someone to take a gamble, which Sir Alex Ferguson did. At the time I was 34 so I didn't expect to be here six years.

Testimonial

"I thought that I would be at United for two years and then maybe go and do something else. Instead I am steadily trying to reach my testimonial."

The former Ajax and Juventus man could have found his stay at the Red Devils cut short earlier in the season as it emerged his wife had been suffering from a serious illness.

But after holding talks with Annemarie, Van der Sar agreed to continue plying his trade, even though many at his age would be hanging up the gloves.

He joins the likes of Paul Scholes and Ryan Giggs enjoying finer moments well into the later stages of their careers', however the Dutchman has no explanations as to why he continues to defy the ravages of time.

He went on: "It was important my wife felt okay with it. If she had said she would rather go back to Holland then we would have done that.

"But I had made up my mind in December that I would keep playing and join the other old boys, who keep on going.

Very strange

"My position is not as demanding as Paul and Ryan, who have had to run and tackle a lot. But the main thing is we are all still enjoying it."

Van der Sar's task in the meantime is to try help United claim an unprecedented fourth successive title, which would mean beating Stoke on the final day and hoping Chelsea slip up against Wigan.

After usually finding his team in the driving seat, relying on other results is a situation unfamiliar position for the keeper, however he remains hopeful more silverware will be coming his way.

He added: "It is very strange. In the last three years we have been in command. Now we have to wait. It is going to be difficult.

"We have lost a lot of games this year but we are still in there at the end. Hopefully Wigan will have a go for it on Sunday and we will hear some positive news."

Tosic may leave United

QUOTE
Zoran Tosic has admitted that he wants to see more first-team action at Manchester United next season, or he will look to leave Old Trafford.

The Serbian winger is currently on loan at Bundesliga side Cologne, where he has netted five times in 12 games since joining in January.

Despite being hailed as a great prospect after signing for United from Partizan for £8million in January 2009, Tosic made just two appearances in the first team before his move to Germany.

The 23-year-old has however maintained his desire to stay at Old Trafford, but only if more appearances in the starting XI were possible.

"If United want me back I will be very happy to return but I don't want to go back there and be in the same situation as last year, I want a more important role in the set-up," he told Serbian TV channel b92's website.

"I feel great here but it remains to be seen what Manchester United will say because it's up to them, I have a contract with the club and it's their decision.

"If that's not what United want, then I will have a look at alternative options.

"I've spoken to Cologne's officials and they told me they would like to see me wear the team's shirt next season too."

World Cup confidence

With Tosic expected to be a part of Serbia coach Radomir Antic's plans for the World Cup in South Africa in June, the former Partizan midfielder, who has scored four goals in his last four games for his country, was confident his side could perform well in the tournament.

"We have a strong team and want to carry on where we left off in the qualifiers, I am sure we can get through although we are missing some injured players," Tosic added.

"We have able replacements and my main concern at the moment is to stay fit so I can be in coach Radomir Antic's frame as soon as the build-up starts."

Poor tosic, no chance for him to shine at man utd sad.gif
Eventhou he stay still hard to break the current form of nani, valencia, park, giggsy
Hope he do well on other club
Btw, ribbery does not appeal on final ecl..

About the last day title decider,
Remember the final day on 07/08?
We met wigan, and chelsea met bolton
No one expected chelsea could draw against bolton.
Let's hope wigan could do a 'small' favour to us.
But if man utd not a champ this year, I proud of my team.
7 loses and 28 away goal in 2nd spot? Not many team have done this.
We loses rio coz of his injury, vidic coz not in form, midfielder not creative enough
And rooney because his marvellous season.
Proud to be mancunian :smile.gif:

are you being sarcastic or what? carrick has been here for almost 4 seasons already, no?

On 10 April 2007, Carrick scored his first European goals, netting two long- range curlers against Roma in United's 7–1 victory in the quarter finals of the Champions League at Old Trafford. He opened the scoring with his first, thus setting United on their way
to the semi finals, and netted the sixth of United's seven

say no to wingers! we have tosic valencia giggs park nani obertan. Even hargreaves can play on the right.

And i bet fabio and rafael can play as a winger as well, as long as we have backups for fullback.

The only thing lacking for me is an attacking midfield. Someone like iniesta or kaka
