I'm planning for a 3 day 2 night trip to Perhentian on 30/04/06, 1/05/06 and 2/05/06 for around 7 or 8 person! Any agent? or can recommend some package? And best if can find those who can organize a fishing trip for us as we are fishing kaki

I was there for my intro to diving.
Been there last June. the place to stay is clean but the trouble is there was no water pumping into the resort properly. therefore we were taking bath in the outside public toilet..taking turns..which i find very inconvenient.. hopefully is better now..
the water as u all know dead corals by the beach BUT we found anemone and litl' Nemo just about 5 metres off the shore..we just stand up in the water to play with it..

The sand i find it not that nice compared to Redang as redang's sand is finer to walk on..
Redang Lang is an good alternative where u want lesser ppl around. the sea water is about 20metres +/- visibility in the mornin.

hopefully it gives u a rough idea.

Redang sand is white and soft as cotton but when its hot its like walking on fire!! There is one part at Pasir Panjang beach (redang) where got some dead corals on the beach sand ... good foot massage!

kapas is quite cheap, the slowboat is around rm14 (to-fro) if im not mistaken, a decent chalet can be rent for about rm 50-80 per night (can squeeze 3 ppl) but if u plan to camp, there is a designated camping area with fresh water and still have to pay around rm10-15 per night. This is just a rough figure as it has been many2 years since my last time there, in fact we just drop by to bbq our sotong after 1 whole night mencandat (squirt fishing), oh ya, the water is clear but not as beautiful as redang/perhentian. its quite famous with backpackers tho. and actually juichuan, if the weather is fine (in monsoon season), you can still go to kapas island as it is quite near. they used to have swimming competition few years back from mainland to kapas island.

oic... yeah.. u are correct.. it is possible to go during monsoon.. but subject to weather and sea condition lo...

Tips:

Do not drive from klang valley to Terengganu, it took me nearly 8 hours at night time and due to rain.

The East Coast Highway is not fully completed yet, hence you have to drive a town/village road which is one lane wide. Some car moves like turtle.

Errrr I also drive there. Been there few times with Redang Bay. Nice pics. You can sell those pics to those resorts to print into post cards.

Nice pics . Planning to go Redang next month with my friends. How much did you spend for the accomodation and all? Trying to get an estimated budget here

If you go during holiday season you have to book 2-3 months earlier or else every resorts fully booked.

And I drove right after I finish my work. that is from my house in klang to cyberjaya work, go back klang and pack then leave klang straight to terrengganu.. 24 hours not sleeping and driving like 600++km. End up my 1st day passed by just sleeping in the room. lol

Ok basically this trip was organize by my parents. Dad's boss' daugther working with a travel agent, so said must support her, so we whole family go for it.

Its RM268 per person x 5 (my family and me). It includes:

- 2 rooms (quad sharing for each room; the room is big. 4 single bed for my room and my parents is 1 queen + 2 single room. All rooms suitable for quad sharing)
- Ferry transfer from Merang to Redang and vice versa
- 3 Snokerling trip subject to weather condition. (Snokerling equipment rental not included; RM30 per set for one day) and For afternoon snokerling, you dun have to pay for the tix, but for the morning session you need to pay RM5 per adult and RM2 per child
- 6 meals (Arrival bout 11am 1st day lunch & dinner, 2nd day breakfast lunch and dinner, 3rd day breakfast only Depart at 1pm; checkout at 11am)

Just returned from Redang yesterday.
IMHO Laguna hotel strecth up to Redang Bay resort looks packed.
I think from Ayu Mayang till Coral Redang is more privacy and relaxing.

Me fren just got back from redang Laguna also. Say Tuesday..He told me that its quite quiet for him....btw i am goin to do freediving in Redang on 17 next month..anyone knows better and want to learn? can join me ..

yoo..vyruz..is ok..ur frens sure will definitely look after ya...btw...swim in a pool are totally not da same that are in the sea...juz be more caution and u'll be alrite dude...
