right now, every application for licenses, permits, and etc. from the Department of Wildlife had been put on hold pending the transitional provision of Act 716. they would only start issuing in July, right now they only issue out receipts/proofs of application.

anyway, since they had not fully sorted out problems regarding applications made under Act 686 (in which applications were made between 9 months to more than a year ago), i guess our applications would take a (long) while to be processed.

hi hi i'm new here n accidentally found this site while searching for rare tortoise information.. just wonder that since they only issue license in july.. we need to wait till july only declare or we still need to declare b4 june?

ist need to declare? unsure.gif

application needs to be done before the 27th of June (Monday) so practically declaration needs to be submitted before the 24th (Friday).

you can prepare your application beforehand though, here's the application form.

I would like to share some licensing information here.

As we all know we need to declare our pet (TTT) with wildlife before 27th June 2011 and once we declared, a temporary license will be given. After July 2011, the authority will call us up to take the permanent license once done and we pay them accordingly.

License fee still not confirm but is yearly renewal basis.

For those who stay in KL, you may declare at WildLife Cheras (Tel: 03-91710258 Add: 21, Jalan Dwi Tasik 1, Bandar Seri Permaisuri, Cheras).

I did ask one of the PIC in WildLife whether they will not approve the declaration and RAMPAS our pet. He said they will not do so. I hope what he said can be trusted hmm.gif

Hi Guys, declared my Indian Star last Friday. I got a temporary license straight away after submitting the form without paying a single cent.
They will inform me to collect the permanent license once done via post. Of course during that time we need to pay for the licensing fee. Until today WildLife still not confirm on the fee yet.

p/s: If declare using condo/ Townhouse address, need to get approval letter from management.

Looks like malnutrition? Lacking of calcium?

How big issit? how long has it been with u?

Do u provide sunlight or UVA/B light? Calcium powder?
*
Ermmm i have been keeping them for few months already since Jan 2011. When i got them already like that. Now is about 8cm.

Every morning i give them multivitamin powder together with their meal as for the UVA/B i dun give them but weekend i put them at balcony for natural sunlight.

Can i know where to get the calcium powder in the market for them?

Hi All Sifus,

My new pair of 6" leopard tortoise just got them on saturday.
Attached Image Attached Image

I have some concerns on them. Do not really sure on their sex even i follow online guidelines. Same goes to my Indian Star Tortoise. Below is the picture of their plastron.
Attached Image

One of the leopard has clear but waterly eyes and blink more frequent compare to the other one which has clear dry eyes. Is it normal? I did notice water/ mucus mark on the nose sometimes if really look properly. A bit worry whether is flu but he/she still very active and eat alot. Do I need to worry?

Anyone interested on following tortoise/ turtle can visit following pet shop:-
few tails of Soft Shell Turtle (88 Pet Smart Pandan Indah)
