chill man...bowling is a practice game...eventhough ur steps, swing or release is not same as the text book but if u practice the same thing everyday u'll get a good score as well...i witnessed with my own eyes in pyramid league...all those old uncles throw their own style yet get very good score n consistent.

those uncles or aunties are money bowlers.. they bowl for money.. so they dont bother whatever style there is in bowling.. as long its a strike.. its ok.. LOL!

for us(Im assuming everyone is having the same view as me).. we treat bowling as our passion and we want to be extremely good in it.. its different..

haha.. nice club for bowling discussion u all have here..
nway i'm a newby in bowling.. not too new actually.. have been playing for several years already but mostly for fun lah.. but lately have been playing really often.. wanting to improve myself.. love this game i must say..

so wanting some tips for a newbie like me.. i mean have been using ball size ranging from 9 - 11 (as stated on the bowling balls in the bowling alley) so want to know wut's the actually size (kg/Lb) for these size..

secondly wanting to know opinion of all out there..would it be beneficial / worth it if i were to buy a bwling ball for my own.. and if yes.. what type of ball suitable for me? i mean brand? price range? currently i throw straight ball but really trying hard to go for hook ball.. love the style.. hehe

opinions are really welcome!! please pros outhere..

woih.. u all also can help answer mah..

the numbers you see on the ball is the pounds of the ball. 9 = 9 pounds.. 10 = 10 pounds.. so sendiri pandai2 lah count how many kg is it..

you want to play hook? you then should buy something like entry level balls. Brunswick Powergroove, Ebonite Tornado, Storm Tropical series, etc.. they should be cheap.. I know Brunswick powergroove is easy to find.. endah parade selling, sunway pro shop is selling.. not too sure abotu the price.. I know got package lah in sunway.. RM400+ with other goodies.. Brunswick Powergroove.. learn from it then slowly move on to higher end balls.. at least it saves you money.. unless you are willing to spend RM500+ for a reactive ball and u learn from there which will be hard for you to learn alone..

if you still want cheaper.. you could buy Brunswick T-Zone.. RM190 only selling in sunway pro shop.. but it will be the same as the house ball.. its hard for the ball to hook unless the lanes are EXTREMELY dry.. eventhough you could hook it, when it hits the pins there is not much reaction..

it is always beneficial because the drillings will be custom made to fit your hand.. it will be easier for you to hold your ball and you will be more consistant and you will feel your ball is much lighter..

thanks neo!! really helpful.. any other tips for a newbie like me? hehe smile.gif)
anway thanks to all

Added on May 9, 2010, 2:25 amone more thing? if i've been using 9-11 pound house ball.. wut size ball i should choose if i were to buy my own ball.. coz not sure where i've read this but some say u ought to choose a ball slightly heavier because personal ball have better finger fitting then the house ball so can afford to take heavier ones.. nway does the heavier means the better.. if so then i need to work my hands out to be able to bowl with heavier balls.. hehe smile.gif

it depends on ur weight n height kot..
hmm one of the expert told me that, 10 percent from ur weight, is the weight that suitable for ur bowling ball..
but, depends on ur wrist strength..
kalo slah info..betol kan ekk otai2 yg len..
