at least they make something new to the game in BO, new multiplayer mode, gun & weapons, and there's ai mode that allow you to practise, compared to other series of cod, it's a new mode..  drool.gif

I know, there are some improvement, but im still hoping for a Payload/Rush/Combat Mission type of game mode.

Seems like it wont happen.

Gun Club looks nice.

Treyarch is no longer the secondary developer to the CoD franchise? Yes or No? Anybody got leads or sauce?
*
They are the leading one now, as IW is half dead now.

I suppose that's for the normal package. It'd be great if they have a special edition that comes with an unlock M14 with foregrip + extended mags + acog. I like loud noise so I'd do without the silencer. It should be ideally price at RM199.90 as well.

But I'm getting this one definitely! At the same time I hope we SEA players will have a good dedicated server or two to go to.
Edit.

Looks like only Japan and Australia can have GameServers dedicated server for BO as evident here "http://www.gameservers.com/blackops/".

We still dont have dedi in Malaysia.

Great work, Activision. Useless as expected.

Ooh... Steam pre-purchase is now open. $59.99. blink.gif

Utilizes Steamworks eh? Does this mean that even the retail box gamers will need to install Steam to play the game?
*
It's a Steamworks game, like Civ 5, New Vegas and so on.

Added on October 23, 2010, 9:42 amCall of Duty®: Black Ops requires an initial hard drive space of approximately 24GB to download and install the game via digital download (8GB of compressed files, 8GB of decompressed files and 8GB of installed files). Upon installing the game, 16GB (compressed and decompressed files) may be deleted from the hard drive. Please make note of where the compressed and decompressed files are being saved on your hard drive in order to later locate these temporary files for removal.

From Steam. Seriously, wtf?

Yup. After reading this, I think it's wiser to go for the boxed retail version since 24GB worth of download is going to take weeks for me. sad.gif
*
For me, i pass.

- No SEA servers.
- Steep requirements
- Stupidly large download files, and i dont really want to wait 3 weeks to have a copy shipped from UK. The pain of waiting for my BFBC2 is bad enough.

Hang on, what's your rig?
*
Im gonna upgrade soon, so, it wont be a problem, but it's quite a steep increase from MW2.

Some of the reasons for me to get it:

- Nazi Zombies
- I met the requirement (which is weird cause I failed the MoH requirement but managed to play smoothly in the end)
- Enfield AS.

How are you gonna play when there are no local servers?

It feels like im buying a region locked game.

I could tolerate matchmaking. Seriously, my experience with dedi servers has been bad. I dunno about TF2 though.
*
So, you mean there are MW2 style matchmaking and dedicated servers?

Rarely have problems with dedicated servers. P2P is rather annoying as one player lag, everyone lags.

matter of fact moh matchmaking is more fun then dedi servers the dedi are just full of snipers or tubers while mm have people who actually want to win
*
I dont remember MoH have any form of matchmaking, other than finding a random dedicated server for you.

So there will be 2 types of servers right?

- Treyarch-hosted dedicated servers

- User own dedicated servers ( but must host at gameserver.com)

So my question if there will be Treyarch-hosted dedicated servers in our region? (ASEAN)
*
I didnt heard of any SEA BO servers so far, after the confirmation that Aussies are getting Internode servers.

Other than Aus, i dont think other country like Sweeden or Malaysia are getting their own local server.

@ acid427

Yep, checked out that one out already. Even suggested to deploy BO server in Malaysia as well. Let's see how that goes.

@ maxsteel

I didn't heard any Treyarch BO server as well. From what I heard in bash and slash, BASH 165, there will be 3 different type of servers,

1) ranked server - get xp and cod point i.e. the currency for BO,
2) unranked server - get xp but no cod point, and
3) wager match server - get or lose cod points.

Listen to BASH 165 for more information on the matter.

Edit.

I think this would be a problem, as how are we gonna play the game in Malaysia?

Connect to Aussie servers at 200 ping? Most local Aus servers, especially Internode loves to kick whoever that is more than 200 ping. How are we gonna play in Malaysia?

I want to get this game, but the no SEA server issue really put me off now.

of course they will leave out pc community since iw made the mistake to answer a pc community's question and then the whole internet went around raging on iw, so now they act as distant as possible, plus they give dedi servers to most country's that have the biggest population so people now will QQ less
*
Yeah, as if IW's answers were any sensible in the first place. It was more like an insult on PC gamers that they dont give a shit about you.

well i just hope after iw incident, things would've change. and i thought that by providing dedicated server to pc community, treyarch is different. but no, activision is still activision, treyarch is now acting like iw and josh olin is 2nd robert bowling. sigh...pc gaming is still dying.
*
At the end of the day, Activision is the one who control their wallets.

PC is pretty much the second class, as the xbox version is getting all the exclusives and hype.

Dont bother about this game if you are not happy. There are other FPS games out there.
