Hopefully it has dedicated servers,though.
I might get it just for the different setting that the game is on which could give a different experience.

Edison gonna love this.
Added on May 14, 2010, 11:47 pmCall of Duty: Black Ops PC Gets Dedicated Servers QUOTE Though Infinity Ward did away with dedicated server support in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 PC, the feature will return in Call of Duty: Black Ops PC this fall. "Dedicated servers are excellent," Mark Lamia, head of Activision-owned Black Ops developer Treyarch, told magazine PC Zone as relayed by CVG. "I don't see any reason not to see them unless... well, I just don't see any reason not to." Infinity Ward had previously explained that Modern Warfare 2 PC did not support dedicated servers as to make multiplayer more accessible, complete with a matchmaking feature "just like you have on the console" care of its IW Net backend. However, Lamia notes that "We do work very hard to reconcile the desire to manipulate and modify those dedicated servers with offering them the persistent experience and benefits that the console system provides... We're working very hard to marry those two things, so people can run dedicated servers and also participate in the communal experience the console players get to have, given they're all on first-party servers." Coming to PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii in addition to PC, Black Ops is due November 9. Source So,no more b****ing anymore. This post has been edited by Cheesenium: May 14 2010, 11:47 PM |

QUOTE(Belphegor @ Aug 19 2010, 05:32 AM) Just thinking, how would you guys think this game gonna affect the other COD title especially COD4 and MW2 since this two title is the most played title among other COD title in Malaysia.. Depends on how good is the actual game, i think. From what i heard, there are some people say Treyarch make better CoD than IW, as they are better on map design and weapons balancing. I never played a Treyarch CoD before, so, i think Black Ops will be my first. |

QUOTE(Belphegor @ Aug 19 2010, 06:48 PM) The players are generally ok.Just that i prefer normal mode, not hardcore, and all i get is only 32 players servers. How to play on Killhouse when you spawn and die? I wished there are larger maps or less max players per server. |

QUOTE(Belphegor @ Aug 20 2010, 03:44 AM) Have you ever tried promod? Or stock mode is just your thing you were looking for? Killhouse is generally a unplayable map. I always skipped it unless I have p90, martydom, 3x frag and sonic bomb as one of my profile selection. Are there any Australian Promod servers?I hate Killhouse so much, as it's just a spam fest map. Usually just use a LMG with deep impact for random spraying. Still can kill some. I dont have 3x frag yet. I dont want to use Martydom, as it annoy the crap out of everyone on server. Thats like one reason why i actually enjoyed MW2, as the maps are generally better designed but it can get quite lonely when everyone decides to camp. I think BFBC2 is still my cup of tea. |

QUOTE(nipaa1412 @ Aug 20 2010, 11:42 AM) I think there is no need for activision to claim about. BO mp is clearly a step ahead of MW2 even if you don't try to bring up the dedi server issue. My only concern is the weird looking radio controlled mini car BO looks nice, to be honest.attacking campers in MW2 is a good challenge to your skill(though campers are darn annoying). However, I personally think tubing or rpging is a little harder in MW2 I like some of the new stuff. Whats your concern with the RC car? I think it's fine. I think there are some way that MW2 is better than CoD4, just that it's too late to get, even though i found somewhere that sells it for 45AUD which is about RM135. BO for 60AUD. Not bad, i think. |

Here's snippets about the PC version:
https://twitter.com/JoshPeckler - Steamworks - 18 players for ranked, 24 players for unranked - www.GameServers.com will be the exclusive provider of servers - Matchmaking will just be the game just picking a random server and placing you in it - Server browser will be improved Source: http://www.shacknews.com/laryn.x?story=65409 And according to GameServers.com, there isnt any servers provided in SEA. Closest servers are in either Japan or Sydney. So, no local servers. Thanks, Activision. |

QUOTE(Belphegor @ Sep 3 2010, 12:55 AM) As long as the game can host server (i.e cod4), good enough. We have generous people like BVPN or Narakka to host for the Asian gamers. The server files is exclusive to Gameservers.com. Narakka and BVPN have no access to them. BFBC2 was similar to this, but Fragnetics have the server files and we are able to host our servers at SEA.As long as Gameservers.com do not have any hosted servers at SEA, we are pretty much GG. Im ok, as their server is at Sydney, but when i come back, it's all gonna be lag. |

The game play looks a lot like MW2.
Less spammy. Might get it, as CoD4 stock could be darn annoying with the amount of spamming. |

QUOTE(DarkknightDK @ Sep 3 2010, 06:33 PM) Well...As long as it has dedicated servers..We ppl dont need to face lagness now...I bet there will be competitive gaming for COD7...But I reali dont understand the new currency system...Make it look like Those MMOFPS games where u hav to earn money and Customize ur cHaracter...So sad... The currency system is just for you to unlock weapons like FAMAS without waiting till the level that unlock the gun. |

I doubt we gonna see any competitions for BO. What they provide isnt sufficient for it.
CoD is pretty much like NFS, where it's no longer suitable for competitive play. |

QUOTE(freakenstein @ Sep 13 2010, 12:39 AM) Great game , waiting for it anxiously but are there people willing to host a local server here? I'm not gonna buy a game that can't play local servers Well, it is confirmed that there is no local SEA servers.Edit : Eh , wait . I saw a few previous post and you guys said no local server hosting? True not? If so , i would just buy the MOH then. Closest is Japan or Australia. Even Western Australia doesnt have any servers. What Activision is doing is far worse than EA with BFBC2. One provider is too little. |

QUOTE(freakenstein @ Sep 13 2010, 06:36 PM) Too bad , i was thinking to get it with MOH together. MoH had a bad Beta that leaves a foul taste in everyone's mouth. But from what i see , MOH and COD also no hype . Unlike BC2 , even before beta there's people planning to host local servers. Was thinking to get a decent FPS game to play during holidays. Im actually hoping MoH would be better, but newer videos indeed looked better than BO. QUOTE(freakenstein @ Sep 13 2010, 07:27 PM) So , what are we going to do? Play on high ping server then. No choice. How to play online if we were to buy? Only those far and high pings one. |
