you guys wanna know what's the price of avante? kindly refer to this gen, which is rm100k++. ( although now they got clearance sales at rm86k, which hurts the second hand value too much).

Sime hyundai is never generous in their pricing, nobody does it like naza, lol.

2 liter forte at 97888, 308thp at 118888, who can beat that. and both comes with 6 airbags.

Avante i'm sure only has 2 airbags. Fiesta sedan only 1 airbag.

so sad hyundai is in bad hand

just for info 132PS and 132hp are completely different....the translated figure is less for hp from ps. Don't get fooled by that .

1PS =~ 0.986hp =130hp.

Not trying to neat pick...but for consumer knowledge.
Again, we need to know as well that 130hp from the engine depends on what RON we are using as well....

it's still better than CPS (aahhahahaah...).
Curb weight on the auto would be about 1305kg....pretty solid/heavy ride (not sure if it's 1.8 ), but the 1.6 might be around Neo's 1.2 ton area...

why i'm comparing with a Neo is basically, I've driven one, and the specs are comparatively. so, you might get what to expect with more 5hp on engine.

plus...a better wind resistance co-efficient design.  sweat.gif
*
neo is very very good at high speed, i think low speed it where it is losing out, at city driving myvi beat it hands down.

so i guess you might need to look at torque too. and the gearbox efficiency needs to take into consideration, and also FC.

so, neo is good at high speed, and high RPM. but in city driving, its slow, and high FC. thats not what you can get from the HP figure.

on the contrary, it's the current civic that's being hung on to... it's getting A LOT of bookings... I'm thinking of booking one myself... The Elantra is really too eff-ing slow sad.gif

even the Honda SA themselves are worried bout the next gen Civic sales....  blink.gif
*
i think jetta will affect civic sales. jetta is rm138888. i think ppl dont mind paying 8888 more for a tsi and dsg technology.

This translates to RM16m loss in sales per month. And judging from the sales of Forte, the Elantra should be able to match or exceed it. If that is the case, then we're looking at 500 x RM80,000 = RM40m additional lost revenue. Ok, to be fair, once you remove the excise duty element the figure is lower, but it's still substantial to a car manufacturer.

Better don't apply for a job as CEO of Toyota Malaysia smile.gif

clap clap clap, good insight.

the segment is fierce and competitive and profiting, thats why naza wants to launch 207 even though it might not get good sales.

naza is quite good, i see future in this company. if the son is rubbish, he can sell all his business and go enjoy his life, instead he decided to do the hard work and bring in the ckd 207 and later on 408, and get chevy business and so on. Naza is coming in loud.

Sighz...

no no.

naza is family business. they bankrupt, their problem.

sime darby? even your epf has a share in it. they lost several billions last year and still give out more than 6 months bonus.

u sure city sell around the amount that u mentioned every month?  whistling.gif why YTD sales (till august) for forte is 3971 and city is 8608? even month august itself for forte is 501 and city is 806, 300 cars different per month is not a big deal? dun forget honda still in recovery from their full production .  sweat.gif
not to mention since u compare city and forte, mostly due to pricing, why not add in vios? YTD sales (till august) 20031 and august 3215.
sometimes is hard to compared forte sales to others. if based on same segment, altis and civic is a lot more expensive, but 3 of them YTD result still abang adik.
if based on pricing, since forte should whack those city and vios sales, but is still not up to there YET.
vios sales seems increase a lot, normally they doing 2K+ per month, maybe many buyers cant wait for city due to slow production and changed their mind to vios, i dun see big leap jump from forte sales, still maintain around 500 cars +- per month for sometimes.

no doubt avante looks nice, and since i in jb, can always saw sg avante passing by. if the price is right, will be good buy. but this will kill forte sales, mostly...  sweat.gif
later naza slash price to fight back?  whistling.gif
*
i can assure you SD cannot match naza price, naza forte is ckd price.

dude, if u compare those month especially after tsunami hit for honda is it fair enough? even they on full production, they still lack of stock(as always), not to mention when the time production is effected by tsunami, which is badly hit for them. for those owners who booked in july, some of their cars will be deliver by this month, means they still waiting for it. waiting list for honda city during tsunami is around 3 to 4 months, does this problem will favor to others model or not? u judge.

Is up to you how to compare, but i would not take this year seriously to judge for city or others japanese cars is it falling or not. And tsunami did effected toyota as well, but they recovered faster than honda.

back to the figure, is good that u hav vios and city YTD result for 2010, where's forte? let me add in for u,
for 2010, total 5209 sold, average per month is 434.
compare to 2011 YTD (august)
total 3971 and average per month is 496.

I dun see any major jump for forte sales until today, as u claim that "Msian mentality has already changed".  doh.gif

btw, next year, volkswagen will hit into market seriously. japanese brand will suffer or not? time will tell. unless not because of forte as u said change malaysian mentality.
*
if you understand mathematic,

forte is about 4000 now, vios is 20,000, and city is 8000. ( YTD until august, from you guys)

look at forte sales, its now 20% of vios, or 50% of city.

if you ever enter a meeting, with figures above, and tell ppl the forte is not significant, then .....good for you, you have a lot to learn. ( in reality, you'll either get fired, or no promotion)

you're not smart to quote 2009 and 2010 figure, because thats the year kia/hyundai started to show new design, and it need to gain momentum.

2012 will be even better for kia/hyundai.

and inspira is in, to take a cut, its YTD is about 8000. and insight, 3000( another 1000 to go).

and peugeot 308.

i dont care about the engine, hp or ps, i just want a car that can give me more comfortable and convenience when driving.
if i want hp or ps, i will choose 2nd hand evo 7/8, impreza ver 7/8, golf gti, silvia...

i think most of the ppl have the same thinking as me.
*
i think u should get a nissan slyphy.

If Veloster is priced at RM170k for a 1.6L engine, Sime Darby can pretty much kiss it bye bye. No one will buy it!

It is 1.6L NA, not even turbo charged. Even if it is turbo charged, a 1.6L TC at RM170k? Unless it is churning out 320HP, i doubt it is going to sell...  vmad.gif

mazda 3 MPS will kills it, in terms of performance and everything.

RM175k for mazda 3 MPS
